Abstract

Female inmates in correctional institutions often experience severe psychological pressure, particularly in the form of negative emotions such as anxiety, anger, guilt, and despair. If left unaddressed, these conditions can hinder rehabilitation and personal development. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapeutic approach that focuses on restructuring maladaptive thoughts and behaviors. This study explores the effectiveness of CBT in managing negative emotions among female inmates using a qualitative case study approach. Fourteen participants joined group counseling sessions, while three individuals received focused CBT interventions such as emotional journaling, guided discovery, self-affirmation, and cognitive restructuring. The findings indicate significant improvements in emotional expression, reduced self-harming tendencies, and increased awareness of negative automatic thoughts. Supportive activities such as art therapy and reflective discussions strengthened the recovery process. The effectiveness of CBT was enhanced by active participant engagement, spiritual integration, and social support from the correctional environment. CBT has proven to provide a safe space for inmates to reconstruct their self-meaning and develop sustainable emotional regulation skills. Therefore, integrating CBT into rehabilitation programs for female inmates is highly recommended to enhance psychological well-being and social reintegration readiness.

Abstract

The Thematic Community Service Program (KKNT) in Mulia Sari Village, Tanjung Lago District, Banyuasin Regency, aims to optimize village potential through strengthening the education sector, empowering MSMEs, and streamlining village administration. Key issues identified included limited promotional media for local businesses and the need to strengthen the character of elementary school students. A descriptive qualitative method was used with a participatory approach, with the community actively involved as program partners. The results indicate that the learning assistance program at SDN 3 Tanjung Lago successfully increased students' socio-emotional awareness. In the economic sector, the creation of promotional media in the form of stickers and banners effectively enhanced the visual identity of MSMEs. Furthermore, the digitalization of village administration helped accelerate public services. Overall, the KKNT program has had a positive impact on village independence and the sustainable strengthening of local human resource capacity. Kegiatan Kuliah Kerja Nyata Tematik (KKNT) di Desa Mulia Sari, Kecamatan Tanjung Lago, Kabupaten Banyuasin, bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan potensi desa melalui penguatan sektor pendidikan, pemberdayaan UMKM, dan efisiensi administrasi desa. Permasalahan utama yang diidentifikasi meliputi keterbatasan media promosi bagi pelaku usaha lokal serta perlunya penguatan karakter pada siswa sekolah dasar. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan partisipatif, di mana masyarakat terlibat aktif sebagai mitra program. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pendampingan belajar di SDN 3 Tanjung Lago berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran sosial-emosional siswa. Di sektor ekonomi, pembuatan media promosi berupa stiker dan spanduk efektif meningkatkan identitas visual UMKM. Selain itu, digitalisasi administrasi desa membantu mempercepat pelayanan publik. Secara keseluruhan, program KKNT ini berhasil memberikan dampak positif bagi kemandirian desa dan penguatan kapasitas sumber daya manusia lokal secara berkelanjutan.
