Abstract

Bullying in physical, verbal, or social forms negatively impacts students’ mental health and academic success, necessitating systematic prevention efforts. This study aims to describe the strategies used by Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers to prevent bullying at Simeulue Tengah State Junior High School (SMP). The research adopted a qualitative approach with a case study design conducted over three months, from August to October 2025. Data were gathered through interviews, observations, and documentation involving six key informants, including BK teachers and student council (OSIS) administrators, supported by school records. The results indicate that BK teachers combat bullying through awareness campaigns about its negative effects during student admissions, OSIS activities, religious programs, and extracurricular events. They also offer personal and persuasive counseling to both victims and perpetrators while promoting the values of togetherness, tolerance, cooperation, and the courage to report. Additionally, student and OSIS involvement is vital in maintaining a safe and inclusive school environment. This collaborative approach involves principals, teachers, students, and OSIS members to foster a positive, violence-free school climate. The study concludes that sustainable bullying prevention is achievable through collaboration, policy integration, and nurturing positive values within the school community.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the competency model of Driving Teachers in improving the quality of learning at the junior high school level in disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost (3T) areas, especially in Simeulue Regency, Aceh Province. This study focuses on the integration of pedagogical, professional, social, and personality competencies supported by learning leadership and their impact on teacher professionalism and student learning outcomes. Methods: This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design involving 15 participants, including driving teachers, principals, and students from three schools in Simeulue Regency. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model through the processes of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. Results: The results of the study show that the Driving Teacher model can transform the role of teachers from curriculum implementers to reflective, collaborative, and innovative learning leaders. Teachers experience improvements in lesson planning, classroom management, and reflection on learning outcomes, supported by a professional learning community and participatory school leadership. In addition, students’ motivation and engagement increased significantly. Novelty: This study presents an integrative conceptual model of teacher competence that connects reflective pedagogy with learning leadership in the context of limited resources. The results of the study expand the theoretical discourse on educational transformation in the 3T region by placing reflection and collaboration as the main mechanism for improving sustainable learning.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to develop a participatory and data-based model for managing basic education facilities and infrastructure to improve the quality of education services in the archipelago. The focus of the research is directed at the optimization strategy of BOS funds, the implementation of School-Based Management (SBM), and the use of data-based School Facilities Management System (SFMS). Methods: This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation studies. The research informants consisted of principals, teachers, and committees in two elementary schools in Simeulue Regency, who were purposively selected. Data analysis was carried out through reduction, thematic presentation, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation validation of sources and methods. Results: The results of the study show that the planning and implementation of infrastructure management have been carried out in a participatory, adaptive, and data-based manner, with school principals playing a central role in coordination. The main challenges include limited BOS funds, technical personnel and digital literacy. From the field findings, an Integrative Model for Participatory Facilities and Infrastructure Management (ISPBD Model) was formed, which emphasizes collaboration, budget efficiency, and public accountability. Novelty: This research offers a new conceptual model that integrates the principles of SBM, BOS fund optimization, and data-driven facility management, which has not previously been developed in an integrated manner in the context of elementary schools in the Indonesian archipelago.
