Abstract

This study explores the integration of hadith values within the classical Javanese literary work Syiir Sekar Kedaton by Al Hajawi, highlighting its function as a medium for moral education, character development, and Islamic spiritual guidance. Using a qualitative descriptive-analytical method, the research analyzes the textual content of Sekar Kedaton to identify embedded ethical teachings derived from hadith literature. Primary data consisted of the syiir text itself, while secondary data were drawn from hadith collections, scholarly articles, and literature discussing Islamic and Javanese cultural intersections. The findings reveal that Sekar Kedaton conveys core Islamic values such as honesty, justice, social responsibility, cleanliness as part of faith, patience, and empathy, all aligned with prophetic teachings. These values are presented in poetic form, making them accessible and memorable to diverse audiences. The syiir also reflects the cultural internalization of Islamic norms, particularly regarding family harmony, gender roles, and spiritual discipline. The study concludes that literary works like Sekar Kedaton can be strategically utilized in Islamic character education, offering culturally relevant content for both formal and informal learning settings. It recommends further comparative research on similar regional Islamic literary texts across Indonesia to uncover unique cultural da'wah patterns and enrich religious literary discourse. This research underscores the need to preserve and study traditional Islamic literature as both cultural heritage and a valuable educational resource.

Abstract

Hadith plays a central role as a primary source of Islamic ethical guidance; however, its transformation from textual knowledge into observable behavior remains theoretically fragmented and empirically underexplored in contemporary research. This study examines how the internalization of hadith-based ethical values influences student behavior, with Islamic family values serving as a mediating mechanism and the institutional learning environment acting as a moderating factor. Using a quantitative survey design, data were collected from 228 undergraduate students enrolled in Islamic education-related programs and analyzed through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings indicate that the internalization of hadith values significantly affects student behavior both directly and indirectly through Islamic family values, demonstrating partial mediation. The institutional learning environment also exerts a significant direct influence and plays a compensatory moderating role by reducing dependence on individual levels of ethical internalization in shaping value orientation. These findings suggest that hadith should be understood not merely as a textual source but as a living ethical system operating across individual, familial, and institutional dimensions. This study contributes to contemporary hadith studies and Islamic education by offering an empirical model of how prophetic teachings are internalized and translated into behavior within modern educational settings.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the Islamic financial industry has not been fully accompanied by the strengthening of ethical integrity and Sharia governance quality. This study examines the concept of dual supervision as an integrative model that combines regulatory oversight and taqwa-based internal control within Islamic economic systems. Using a qualitative library research approach, this study analyzes classical and contemporary Islamic legal thought, particularly drawing on Mausu’ah Qadhaya Fiqhiyyah Mu’ashirah by Dr. Ali al-Salus, along with relevant literature on Islamic governance and financial analysis. The findings indicate that regulatory supervision ensures formal compliance with Sharia standards and institutional procedures, while it remains insufficient in preventing moral hazards and ethical violations. Conversely, taqwa functions as an internal spiritual mechanism that fosters accountability, integrity, and ethical responsibility among economic actors. The integration of both dimensions produces a dual supervision framework that strengthens Sharia compliance, enhances governance effectiveness, and supports sustainable Islamic financial development. Furthermore, the model is relevant to contemporary challenges such as financial technology innovation, regulatory fragmentation, and increasing complexity in Islamic financial transactions. This study contributes to the development of Islamic governance theory and offers a conceptual framework for improving both Sharia compliance and ethical performance in Islamic financial institutions.
