Abstract

The continuously evolving fashion trends, which show no signs of slowing down, have negative impacts on both individuals and the environment. This phenomenon also drives consumers to constantly follow trends without proper financial planning, leading to impulsive buying behavior. This study aims to identify the influence of financial literacy on impulsive buying of fashion products. The data in this research were obtained using a quantitative approach, with participants aged 18–25 years, representing various genders, locations, and monthly expenditure levels, and having prior experience with impulsive purchases of fashion products in the recent past. Data were collected through a questionnaire distributed via Google Forms, resulting in a total of 86 respondents. The data were analysed with simple regression and processed using SPSS 26. The study found that financial literacy has a significant negative effect on impulsive buying behavior, particularly among Gen Z consumers in the context of fashion products.

Abstract

Cultural diversity in Indonesia is one of the nation's most distinctive characteristics and serves as a source of national pride, reflected through the expression of nationalism among its people. In this technological era, social media plays a significant role in shaping individuals' sense of national pride by exposing them to viral content that highlights Indonesia's cultural diversity, thereby forming a national identity for each individual. For Generation Z, the process of forming a national identity is not only shaped by direct interaction, but also influenced by digital communication that takes place on social media. This study aims to explore the role of social media in shaping nationalism among Generation Z individuals through various types of viral content related to Indonesia's cultural diversity. This study used a scoping review method as the main approach. The results of the scoping review show that research on nationalism and love for the homeland in the digital age remains an important focus in the fields of education, culture, and communication. Through active participation in social media, Generation Z can help preserve Indonesia's diverse culture and strengthen the spirit of nationalism that reflects the value of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (unity in diversity) within the realm of social media. ABSTRAK Keberagaman budaya di Indonesia merupakan salah satu ciri khas bangsa yang perlu dibanggakan oleh masyarakat Indonesia, yaitu dengan menunjukkan rasa cinta tanah air. Di era yang serba teknologi, peran media sosial akan memberikan banyak dampak terhadap individu dalam membentuk rasa cinta tanah air melalui perasaan bangga ketika melihat banyak konten viral yang berisikan keberagaman budaya Indonesia, hingga terbentuk identitas nasional bagi setiap individu. Bagi Gen Z, proses pembentukan identitas nasional tidak hanya terbentuk dari interaksi langsung, tetapi juga dipengaruhi oleh komunikasi digital yang berlangsung di media sosial. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui peran media sosial dalam membentuk rasa cinta tanah air pada individu Gen Z melalui berbagai macam konten viral terkait keberagaman budaya Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode scoping review sebagai pendekatan utama. Hasil scoping review menunjukkan bahwa penelitian mengenai nasionalisme dan cinta tanah air di era digital, masih menjadi fokus penting dalam bidang pendidikan, budaya, dan komunikasi. Melalui partisipasi aktif di media sosial, generasi Z dapat ikut melestarikan kebudayaan Indonesia yang beragam, serta memperkuat semangat kebangsaan yang mencerminkan nilai Bhinneka Tunggal Ika dalam lingkup media sosial.
