Abstract

Abstrak: Pelatihan formulasi pakan berbasis metode Pearson Square dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas siswa SMK Peternakan Manggarai dalam menyusun ransum seimbang menggunakan bahan pakan lokal. Masalah yang dihadapi meliputi keterbatasan pemahaman nutrisi ternak dan rendahnya keterampilan praktis formulasi pakan. Kegiatan melibatkan 40 siswa dengan metode demonstratif-partisipatif, mencakup teori, diskusi, latihan, proyek ransum, dan evaluasi pre-test serta post-test. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan siswa dari 43,3% menjadi 90%, dengan kemampuan kreatif dalam memanfaatkan bahan lokal seperti jagung, dedak, dan tepung ikan. Pelatihan ini efektif mendukung penguatan keterampilan praktis siswa serta optimalisasi sumber daya pakan lokal, sehingga berkontribusi pada ketahanan pakan dan peningkatan kapasitas calon praktisi peternakan.Abstract: A Pearson Square-based feed formulation training was conducted to enhance the capacity of vocational high school students in Manggarai to prepare balanced rations using local feed resources. The main challenges included a limited understanding of animal nutrition and low practical feed formulation skills. The program involved 40 students using a demonstrative-participatory method, including theory, discussion, exercises, project-based ration preparation, and pre- and post-test evaluation. Results showed an improvement in student knowledge and skills from 43.3% to 90%, with creative utilization of local ingredients such as corn, rice bran, and fish meal. This training effectively strengthened practical skills and optimized local feed resources, contributing to feed security and the capacity development of future livestock practitioners.
