Abstract

Kehamilan merupakan periode yang sangat penting. Kualitas diet merupakan salah satu alat ukur yang dapat digunakan untuk dapat menghindari hasil kehamilan yang tidak diinginkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis artikel dari berbagai jurnal agar dapat memberikan informasi yang terpercaya mengenai  faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kualitas diet selama masa kehamilan. penelitian ini menggunakan metode literature review. Penelusuran literatur dilakukan melalui Google Scholar dan Pubmed dengan kata kunci ‘kualitas diet ibu hamil. Kriteria inklusi yaitu publikasi nasional dan internasional free full text, publikasi yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor yang mempengaruhi kualitas diet pada ibu hamil, dan publikasi yang diterbitkan dalam 5 tahun terakhir.  Berdasarkan hasil telaah dari lima jurnal yang relevan dengan tujuan penelitian, terdapat dua faktor utama yang mempengaruhi kualitas diet pada ibu hamil, yaitu status sosial ekonomi dan pengetahuan terkait gizi. Perlu adanya pertimbangan terkait kesenjangan sosial ekonomi dalam program intervensi kepada ibu hamil, dan diperlukan pemberian edukasi gizi, baik sebelum kehamilan dan selama masa kehamilan.

Abstract

Adolescent malnutrition remains a major public health challenge in Indonesia. Accurate dietary assessment plays a critical role in understanding adolescents’ eating patterns and their implications for nutritional status. This study aimed to identify trends in dietary assessment methods used in adolescent research in Indonesia, focusing on method variation, data collection approaches, and validation of instruments. A narrative review was conducted by screening relevant articles according to inclusion criteria, resulting in 22 eligible studies. The findings show that the most frequently used method was the Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) or Semi-Quantitative FFQ (SQ-FFQ) applied in 12 studies, followed by 24-hour dietary recall, either used alone or in combination. Other methods included food records, the Dietary Quality Index for Adolescent (DQI-A), and the Dietary Diversity Score (DDS). FFQ was reported as practical and cost-effective, although most studies did not mention instrument validation. In contrast, the 24-hour dietary recall provided detailed dietary intake but required more resources and was limited by respondents’ recall ability. Combining methods, such as 24-hour recall with FFQ or food record, improved validity but increased complexity. In conclusion, dietary assessment methods in adolescent studies in Indonesia are predominantly based on FFQ and 24-hour recall, with limited evidence of validation, highlighting the need for greater methodological rigor to ensure accurate dietary assessment among adolescent.

Abstract

Adolescents are vulnerable to nutrition-related problems due to unhealthy eating patterns and limited nutrition literacy. Strengthening nutrition knowledge through engaging, interactive, and participatory approaches is essential to support healthier decision-making. This community service program aimed to improve junior high school students’ understanding of balanced nutrition through a participatory education model integrating creative media and interactive games. The intervention was conducted at junior high school 14 Padang in September 2025 involving 57 ninth-grade students. Educational activities included a structured presentation, visual materials such as posters and leaflets, and interactive nutrition games based on the “Tumpeng Gizi Seimbang” and “Isi Piringku” concepts. Knowledge assessment used pre-test and post-test questionnaires, and data were analyzed using paired sample t-test. Results showed a significant improvement in students’ knowledge (p = 0.001), with the proportion categorized as having high knowledge increasing from 75.4% to 87.7%. These findings highlight the effectiveness of combining participatory strategies with creative media and interactive activities in enhancing adolescents’ understanding of balanced nutrition. The implications of this program indicate that, when implemented consistently and supported by the school environment, participatory approaches may contribute to more sustained improvements in students’ nutrition-related awareness. Schools are encouraged to incorporate interactive media in health education and conduct periodic follow-up activities to maintain knowledge retention.
