Abstract

Emergency Installations (IGD) have high work dynamics that require nurse preparedness for 24 hours, so nurse performance is an important indicator in determining service quality. Nurse performance includes quality, quantity, precision and work behavior according to professional standards. In its implementation, nurses face an excessive workload and can trigger work stress in the form of emotional pressure when providing services. This study aims to determine the relationship between workload and work stress and the performance of nurses in the Emergency Installation (IGD) of Dr. M.M Dunda Limboto Hospital. This study is a quantitative research with a cross sectional method. A sample of 31 nurses was taken using the total sampling technique. This research instrument used questionnaires of workload, work stress, and nurse performance. Bivariate analysis using the Spearman Rank test. The results showed a significant relationship between workload and nurse performance (p-Value = 0.001; r = -0.580). Meanwhile, there was also a significant relationship between work stress and nurse performance (p-Value = 0.003; r = -0.520. It is hoped that the hospital can hold a stress management program and workload management on a regular basis and create a conducive work environment to improve nurse performance.

Abstract

Burnout is a common feeling of burnout that develops when individuals simultaneously experience too much stress and have too few sources of satisfaction as well as the result of energy use exceeding one's resources. This study is a type of quantitative research with a Cross Sectional approach, which consists of independent variables in the form of age, marital status, education level, working period, and workload and dependent variables of burnout. The population in this study amounted to 160 respondents with a sampling technique using Simple random sampling, a sample of 114 respondents was obtained. The instruments in this study used the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) questionnaire and workload. The data analysis used is the Chi square test. The results showed that all variables studied had a significant relationship with the incidence of burnout in inpatient nurses, which was evidenced by a P-value of < 0.05 in each factor. In detail, where the age factor (P=0.035); the marital status factor (P=0.018); the education level factor (P=0.015); the work period factor (P=0.034); the workload factor (P=0.035), are the main triggers of physical and mental fatigue that collectively contribute to the burnout rate of nurses, Therefore, it can be concluded that individual characteristics and the magnitude of job demands together contribute to the level of nurse burnout in the inpatient room.

Abstract

The postpartum period is a period of 42 days after childbirth which is marked by physical, psychological, and social changes in the mother. In this phase, mothers need optimal health services to prevent complications, support recovery and successful breastfeeding. This study aims to determine the relationship between the quality of Post Natal Care (PNC) services and the satisfaction of postpartum mothers at the Limboto Health Center. Quantitative research method with cross sectional design. The population of 213 postpartum mothers with a sample of 68 respondents was determined using the Slovin formula. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire on the quality of PNC services and the satisfaction of postpartum mothers. Data analysis used Fisher's Exact Test and Spearman Correlation tests. The results showed that most of the respondents had the quality of PNC service in the category of 43 people (63.2%), 15 people (22.1%), and 10 people (14.7%) lacked. The satisfaction level of postpartum mothers was mostly satisfied with 37 people (54.4%), satisfied with 16 people (23.5%), and dissatisfied with 15 people (22.1%). The results of the Fisher's Exact Test obtained a value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05) and a Spearman coefficient r = 0.672 (p = 0.000) which showed that there was a meaningful relationship with strong correlation strength and positive direction. It was concluded that most postpartum mothers assessed the quality of PNC services as adequate and felt quite satisfied. There is a strong and positive meaningful relationship between the quality of PNC services and the satisfaction of postpartum mothers at the Limboto Health Center. It is recommended that the Puskesmas improve the quality of PNC services so that the satisfaction of postpartum mothers increases.

Abstract

Patient safety is an important indicator in the quality of health services in hospitals. Nurses have a major role in the implementation of patient safety goals, which are influenced by knowledge and attitudes. However, there are still incidents that show that the implementation of patient safety in the inpatient room is not optimal. This study aims to determine the relationship between nurses' knowledge and attitudes and the implementation of patient safety goals at Toto Kabila Hospital. This study is a quantitative research with a cross sectional method. A sample of 94 nurses was taken using the Probability Sampling technique with a Stratified Random Sampling approach. This research instrument used a questionnaire on knowledge, attitudes, and implementation of patient safety goals. Bivariate analysis used the Chi-Square test. The results showed a significant relationship between knowledge and the implementation of patient safety goals (p-Value = 0.000). Meanwhile, there is also a significant relationship between attitude and the implementation of patient safety goals (p-Value = 0.000). It is hoped that the hospital can increase training and supervision related to patient safety to improve the quality of service and prevent patient safety incidents.
