Abstract

The hoisting system equipment course aims to provide participants with an indepth understanding of the operating principles, components, and safety aspects of hoisting equipment in the oil and gas, construction, and manufacturing industries. Through practical learning, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the components, functions, and operating principles of hoisting systems. The importance of hoisting system knowledge in oil and gas drilling is that participants become familiar with the main components of hoisting system equipment, the function of each component, and the operating principles of hoisting systems in field operations. The type of research used in this practicum is classroom action research. The implementation phase includes preparing tools and materials, introducing and understanding the object, conducting observations and making rough sketches, and creating narratives based on direct observations and literature review. By studying the operating principles ofhoisting systems, students gain a clear understanding of their crucial role in the oil and gas drilling industry and the construction sector.

Abstract

Gesekan dan torsi yang tinggi pada operasi pengeboran dapat menyebabkan pipe stuck, keausan pada peralatan pemboran, dan bahkan bisa kehilangan kontrol sumur, sehingga memerlukan penambahan aditif pelumas. Penelitian ini membandingkan efektivitas oil-based lubricant (mineral oil) dan synthetic lubricant (polyglycol) pada konsentrasi 1% dalam meningkatkan sifat pelumasan HPWBM. Tiga sampel lumpur (non-lubricant, oil-based lubricant, synthetic lubricant) dikondisikan pada 300°F (149°C) selama 16 jam. Pengujian sifat rheologi, filtrasi, dan lubricity (coefficient of friction (CoF) dan torsi) dilakukan sesuai standar API. Penambahan lubricant tidak mempengaruhi densitas (SG 1,45), plastic viscosity (27 cP), dan pH (9,7). Namun, terjadi peningkatan yield point (21-23 lb/100ft²) dan low shear-rate yield point (2-5 lb/100ft²). Oil-based lubricant terbukti lebih efektif menurunkan CoF dari 0,28 menjadi 0,23 (penurunan 12,86%), sedangkan synthetic lubricant hanya menurunkan CoF menjadi 0,26 (penurunan 5,48%). Meskipun oil-based lubricant menunjukkan kinerja tribologis yang lebih unggul, synthetic lubricant dapat menjadi alternatif yang ekonomis untuk operasi pengeboran dengan anggaran terbatas atau pada formasi yang tidak terlalu menuntut performa pelumasan tinggi.
