Abstract

IMKM Tenun Wan Atiqah merupakan salah satu industri kecil menengah yang bergerak di bidang kerajinan tekstil di Kota Dumai. Permasalahan awal yang dihadapi adalah jarak antar stasiun kerja yang terlalu jauh, alur perpindahan material yang tidak teratur, serta penempatan mesin yang kurang strategis sehingga menghambat kelancaran proses produksi. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan perbaikan tata letak yang lebih sistematis dan efisien agar proses produksi dapat berjalan lebih efektif dan mendukung peningkatan produktivitas. Berdasarkan dari permasalahan tersebut, Penulis melakukan penelitian perbaikan tata letak pada IMKM Tenun Wan Atiqah dengan pendekatan SLP dan metode grafik sebagai metode analisis untuk menghasilkan alternatif tata letak yang lebih efisien. Penggunaan metode ini digunakan untuk membandingkan alternatif tata letak yang dapat meminimalkan jarak perpindahan material. Dengan tata letak yang lebih eifisien, diharapkan mampu meminimalkan luas area yang terbuang sia-sia, alur produksi menjadi lebih tertata, dan kapasitas produksi lebih tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi, alternatif layout yang terpilih adalah layout dengan jarak perpindahan terkecil yaitu layout dengan pendekatan SLP sebesar 407,5 meter. Sementara itu, layout dengan metode grafik menghasilkan jarak total sebesar 516,2 meter. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa metode SLP lebih efektif dalam meminimalkan perpindahan material dan menciptakan alur produksi yang lebih efisien.

Abstract

Efficient fertilizer distribution is an urgent need for farmers in Riau Province to ensure optimal agricultural production. The main problem faced by the partner community is the high transportation cost caused by ineffective distribution routes. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide managerial and technical solutions in fertilizer distribution using transportation methods, namely North West Corner (NWC), Least Cost Method (LCM), and optimization with the Stepping Stone Method. The implementation method includes socialization, training, application of calculations to real partner cases, and mentoring in interpreting the results of method comparisons. The results show that the LCM method produces lower distribution costs compared to NWC, and further optimization using the Stepping Stone method leads to even more efficient distribution costs. This activity not only provides direct benefits to the partner in the form of increased logistical efficiency and cost savings but also contributes to the development of knowledge in the field of education, particularly in the teaching of logistics optimization and distribution management through applied research. Thus, this community service program creates a dual impact: enhancing partner capacity in practice while also providing a practical learning model for students and academics to apply transportation optimization theory to real-world problems.
