Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kebutuhan air pada Saluran Sekunder Irigasi Pengkaro yang terletak di Desa Pangi, Kecamatan Bajo, Kabupaten Luwu. Latar belakang penelitian didasari oleh kondisi saluran yang mengalami kerusakan struktural, rembesan, serta penumpukan sedimen yang menyebabkan berkurangnya efisiensi penyaluran air. Metode penelitian yang digunakan meliputi pengumpulan data primer berupa pengukuran debit, dimensi saluran, serta kecepatan aliran, sedangkan data sekunder mencakup curah hujan, skema jaringan irigasi, dan literatur pendukung. Analisis dilakukan untuk menghitung efisiensi saluran, kehilangan air, evapotranspirasi, curah hujan efektif, hingga kebutuhan air bersih (Net Field Requirement). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa efisiensi Saluran Sekunder Irigasi Pengkaro hanya sebesar 58,48%, dengan total kehilangan air mencapai 41,52%. Adapun kebutuhan air irigasi tercatat sebesar 0,617 m³/s, sedangkan berdasarkan skema jaringan hanya tersedia 0,397 m³/s. Hal ini menandakan adanya selisih debit sebesar 0,220 m³/s, yang berpotensi menyebabkan kekurangan pasokan air bagi lahan sawah terutama pada periode puncak kebutuhan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan perbaikan struktur saluran serta pemeliharaan rutin agar distribusi air dapat lebih optimal dan kebutuhan irigasi pertanian di Desa Pangi dapat terpenuhi secara berkelanjutan. This research aims to evaluate the water requirements of the Pengkaro Secondary Irrigation Canal located in Pangi Village, Bajo District, Luwu Regency. The study was motivated by the poor condition of the canal, which showed structural damage, seepage, and sediment buildup, leading to reduced efficiency of water distribution. The research method involved collecting primary data, including discharge measurements, canal dimensions, and flow velocity, as well as secondary data such as rainfall, irrigation network schemes, and supporting literature. The analysis included calculations of canal efficiency, water losses, evapotranspiration, effective rainfall, and net field water requirements (NFR). The results showed that the efficiency of the Pengkaro Secondary Canal was only 58.48%, with total water loss reaching 41.52%. The irrigation water requirement was 0.617 m³/s, while the available discharge from the network was only 0.397 m³/s. This indicates a deficit of 0.220 m³/s, which may cause water shortages for rice fields, especially during peak demand periods. Therefore, structural improvements and regular maintenance are required to optimize water distribution and ensure sustainable irrigation in Pangi Village.
