Abstract

The commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in RT 03, Banjarbendo Village, was carried out through an arts performance jointly initiated by residents. This activity used a Participatory Action Research (PAR) and Service-Learning (SL) approach. Through PAR, the community was actively involved from the need’s identification stage, through planning, implementation, and evaluation. Meanwhile, SL provided students with the opportunity to learn through direct involvement, reflection, and service to the community. The results of the activity showed an increase in creativity, self-confidence, and courage in children in showcasing their artistic potential. In addition, this activity strengthened social solidarity, strengthened relationships between residents, and fostered pride in local culture. This activity served as a means of reflective learning that connected theory with practice. Thus, the arts performance functioned not only as a celebration but also as an instrument for community empowerment and transformative learning.
