Abstract

Hydrogel preparations are preparations that have a fairly high water content, ranging from 80-90%. Sonneratia caseolaris Engl is a type of mangrove plant, locally this tree is often called kapidada. Ecologically, kapidada grows in the less salty parts of the mangrove forest. This study aims to find out whether the red pidada mangrove leaf extract can be formulated into a hydrogel mask preparation. The test method used is a hydrogel mask made by mixing the basic ingredients of the mask in the form of carbopol 940 and TEA. The results of the evaluation test were in the form of an organoleptic test with greenish clear color parameters, odorless, with a thick gel form. The resulting pH test was formula 1 with a pH value of 5, formula 2 with a pH value of 6 and formula 3 with a pH value of 5. Test the homogeneity of all preparations from the three homogeneous formulas. The spreadability test produced from formula 1 was 5.1 cm, formula 2 was 4.9 cm and formula 3 was 3.6 cm. The adhesion test resulting from the three formulas obtained a value of 1.16; 1.52; and 1.63 seconds. Viscosity test obtained from the three formulas, namely 3,967; 2,989; and 1,737 cps. Abstract

Many areas in Indonesia still have water sources that are unsuitable for daily use. One such area is the vicinity of Sungai Geneng Mosque, Kembang Bahu District, Lamongan Regency. In this area, the water source contains high levels of lime and organic materials, making it unsuitable for consumption. To address this issue, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Team from Politeknik Perkapalan Negeri Surabaya (PPNS) implemented a water filtration application in the area. The filtration method used is the anaerobic filtration system. Based on the filtration results, high levels of lime were successfully reduced to meet health standards, making the water clean and safe for consumption. Additionally, the organic materials in the water were converted into biogas, which serves as an alternative energy source for cooking and environmentally friendly vehicles.

Abstract

This research discusses the application of Energy Management System on hybrid batteries and superkapasitors for power distribution as an effort to distribute the load on electric vehicles. The purpose of the research conducted is to determine whether the proposed Fuzzy Logic Controller-based control system can operate well as an effort to distribute power for the needs of operating electric vehicles. The driving cycle that will be used in the study is the Urban Dynamometer Driving Schedule (UDDS) cycle to determine the effect of power sharing on hybrid batteries and superkapasitors in the UDDS driving cycle. Testing was carried out under 2 different conditions, namely when the SOC condition of the battery and superkapasitor was 85% and when the SOC of the battery was 20% while the SOC of the superkapasitor was 85%. From the test, it was obtained that the proposed hybrid battery and superkapasitor system based on the Fuzzy Logic Controller was able to operate well under the specified conditions. Both energy storage devices were able to share power by maintaining the battery and superkapasitor SOC not exceeding the specified operating limits. This condition allows electric vehicles to be operated for a fairly long period of time.

Abstract

The south workshop building is utilized for practical activities involving high machine loads, while the learning building is designated for theoretical activities. In order to optimize energy efficiency, a comprehensive audit of the lighting and electrical systems. A comparative case study approach was utilized for the analysis. A comprehensive audit of the lighting and electrical systems in both environments was conducted. An Internet of Things (IoT) monitoring system was utilized to track power consumption in both buildings. Illumination measurements were obtained using a lux meter and were subsequently compared with the Standard of Lighting (SNI) and the Permenaker standards. The average level of illumination was measured at 128.4 lux in the southern workshop and below 150 lux in some classrooms of the learning building. An electrical analysis revealed that the dominant load in the south workshop was from welding machines (10.9 kVA), whereas in the learning building, it was from the cooling system and electronic equipment. A comparative analysis of the south workshop building and the learning building reveals that both structures possess considerable potential for energy conservation. Recommendations for improvement include upgrading the lighting system and implementing an IoT system to support specific electrical load management for each building.
