Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui produktivitas Rumput Gajah Mini (Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott) yang dipupuk dengan perpaduan pupuk organik (pupuk kandang) dan nitrogen anorganik (urea). Penelitian dirancang menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan enam perlakuan dan tiga ulangan, meliputi: P1 (Rumput Gajah Mini tanpa pemupukan); P2 (Rumput Gajah Mini + 100% Urea); P3 (Rumput Gajah Mini + 25% Pupuk Kandang + 75% Urea); P4 (Rumput Gajah Mini + 50% Pupuk Kandang + 50% Urea); P5 (Rumput Gajah Mini + 75% Pupuk Kandang + 25% Urea); P6 (Rumput Gajah Mini + 100% Pupuk Kandang). Dosis pemupukan yang digunakan adalah 300 Kg N/ha. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perpaduan pupuk anorganik dan pupuk organik berpengaruh nyata (P< 0,05) terhadap pertumbuhan, produksi bahan kering (BK), kandungan Serat Kasar (SK), Protein Kasar (PK), serta kecernaan in-vitro bahan kering (KcBK) dan kecernaan in-vitro bahan organik (KcBO) rumput Gajah Mini. Produksi BK tertinggi pada P2 (8,26 ton/ha), kandungan PK tertinggi pada P3 (13,54%), kandungan SK terendah pada P2 (26,90%). Nilai KcBK dan KcBO tertinggi pada P2, masing-masing yakni 71,78% dan 72,19%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemupukan terbaik diperoleh tanpa perpaduan pupuk organik dan anorganik. Namun jika pemupukan dilakukan perpaduan, maka maksimal penggunaan pupuk organik sebanyak 25 persen.

Abstract

The assistance program for processing livestock waste into organic fertilizer was carried out in Teluk Santong Village, Plampang District, Sumbawa Regency, with the aim of enhancing the community’s knowledge and skills in managing livestock waste using simple technology. Livestock waste consists of manure (feces), urine, and feed residues. When properly processed, it can be utilized as organic fertilizer, which plays a role in improving soil and plant fertility while also having the potential to increase farmers’ income. The training on organic fertilizer production was carried out in two stages. The first stage comprised the delivery of materials through lectures and discussions, complemented by the distribution of brochures as a guide for participants to understand the procedures and techniques for producing organic fertilizer. The second stage consisted of hands-on practice to ensure that farmers could carry out the production process accurately and correctly. This training had a positive impact by enhancing the skills of livestock farmers in processing livestock waste into organic fertilizer. Furthermore, the organic fertilizer produced can be used for crops and helps reduce the dependence on increasingly expensive inorganic fertilizers. Organic fertilizer also contributes to improving soil conditions physically, chemically, and biologically—thereby maintaining soil fertility in Teluk Santong Village.
