Abstract

Purpose – This study formulates an integrative conceptual model of Islamic education at Islamic Religious Higher Education Institutions (PTKIS) in the Society 5.0 era by linking the orientation of insan kamil, digital technology, an Islamic curriculum, and value-based Islamic leadership to prevent the reduction of education into a merely technical process and the risk of dehumanization. Design/methods/approach – The study used a conceptual design through a systematic literature review for the period 2020 to 2025. Searches were conducted in Scopus, Google Scholar, DOAJ, and accredited national journal portals using keywords related to Islamic education, insan kamil, Society 5.0, PTKIS, and digital transformation. Of 412 identified articles, 62 articles passed the inclusion criteria through title screening, abstract screening, and full review. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis and descriptive mapping. Findings – The literature was dominated by conceptual studies or literature studies (40 of 62; 65%), indicating a gap in empirical evidence. Four main themes were identified: integration of Islamic curriculum and pedagogy with technology; Islamic digital leadership and governance; adoption of key technologies and ethical dilemmas; and character and spirituality formation in digital spaces. The synthesis produced an Input-Process-Output-Outcome framework grounded in Islamic values and spirituality, with outputs of spiritual-moral, critical-intellectual, digital-technological, and social-collaborative competencies that lead to insan kamil. Research implications – This model guides PTKIS in integrative curriculum design, strengthening digital literacy and artificial intelligence ethics, developing e-leadership based on amanah, adil, and ihsan, and collaboration of the campus, family, and community ecosystems.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate the concept of Al-Qur'anic eco-theology by integrating moderate Eco-Fiqh to preserve the natural environment. The global environmental crisis demands a change in human awareness and concrete actions towards the environment. Islam offers a theological foundation through the concepts of mizan (balance) and human responsibility as khalifah, which form the basis of ecological ethics. However, the implementation of these values requires strengthening at the level of adaptive fiqh based on the principle of religious moderation (wasathiyah). This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a literature review. Data were collected by analyzing primary and secondary literature on ecotheology, Eco-Fiqh, and religious moderation. This study fills a gap in the literature that has not yet integrated Eco-Fiqh and the principle of moderation as a coherent approach to environmental preservation. The novelty of this research lies in the integrative formulation between Al-Qur'an ecotheology and moderate Eco-Fiqh, which is systematically formulated and directed towards practical implications. The results of this study are expected to enrich the moderation Eco-Fiqh knowledge base and provide practical contributions to strengthening the conservation movement based on inclusive and sustainable Islamic values.

Abstract

Improving the quality of teachers is a key factor in realizing the quality of sustainable madrasah education, but there are still many madrasas facing limited resources and have not implemented quality management systematically. This study aims to analyze the implementation of quality management based on the POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling) approach in improving the quality of teachers at MI Miftahul Ulum Panyiuran and examine its integration with the values of Islamic education management. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation studies, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive model. The results of the study showed that planning was carried out in a participatory manner through RKM and RPT, competency-based organization and deliberation, implementation through continuous training and comparative studies, and evaluation through supervision and program evaluation. The implementation of POAC has an impact on improving teacher professionalism, a culture of cooperation, a conducive learning climate, and a quality culture. The integration of the values of tadbir, syūrā, tarbiyah, and muḥāsabah strengthens the moral-spiritual dimension, although there is still a need for more measurable quality indicators.
