Abstract

The development of information technology has encouraged the digitalization of literacy through the use of web-based digital books. However, most existing digital book platforms are still one-way systems and do not actively encourage user participation. This study aims to design and implement a web-based digital book sharing platform called OpenBook, which allows users to act as both consumers and contributors. The platform is developed using the Laravel framework and applies a credit system as an incentive mechanism for uploading and downloading digital books. The research method used is the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with the Waterfall model. Black-box testing results show that all main system features function properly and meet the specified requirements.

Abstract

The business process of selling and procuring products at PT. XYZ still relies on manual coordination and systems that have not yet been integrated, so workflows and process traceability are not yet optimal. This research aims to analyze and model these business processes using Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN). The research method used is descriptive research through observation and document study. The research data is in the form of activity flows, the role of actors, operational documents, and information on the use of the system in the sales and product procurement process. The results show that as-is business process modeling identifies flow inefficiencies, while to-be modeling results in more structured processes, integrated with information systems, and clarifies the roles and responsibilities of actors.

Abstract

Employee attendance plays an important role in maintaining discipline and supporting work effectiveness. However, manual and fingerprint-based attendance systems still face several challenges, such as the possibility of proxy attendance, long queues during check-in hours, and difficulties in data recap. To address these issues, this study designs a web-based attendance information system equipped with GPS location validation and photo capture as proof of attendance. The research was conducted at PT XYZ using the Waterfall development method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation studies to formulate system requirements. The system design was modeled using Unified Modeling Language (UML), including use case diagrams and activity diagrams, which illustrate the interaction flows between employees and administrators. The implementation results show that the system successfully validates attendance location, stores photos as visual evidence, and facilitates administrators in managing employee and location data. Testing using the Black Box method confirmed that all functions operated as expected. Thus, the system improves the validity of attendance data, reduces fraud, and supports administrative efficiency within the company.
