Abstract

This study aimed to develop and test the effectiveness of a Think-Pair-Share (TPS) guideline to enhance empathic communication as a preventive effort against bullying among junior high school students. The study employed the Borg and Gall Research and Development model, limited to the initial product trial stage because the guideline was not yet ready for broader dissemination. Participants consisted of seven ninth-grade students at SMP Negeri 24 Banjarmasin who were selected based on low to moderate levels of bullying behavior, recommendations from the school counselor, and willingness to participate. The instruments included expert validation sheets, an empathic communication questionnaire based on Adler and Towne’s indicators, process evaluation, outcome evaluation, and a student satisfaction questionnaire. The feasibility test showed that the guideline was valid, with scores of 79.6% from the material expert, 91.5% from the media expert, and 97.9% from the practitioner. Normality testing indicated that the data were not normally distributed; therefore, the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test was used. The results showed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), which indicates a significant increase in students’ empathic communication after participating in group guidance using TPS. In addition, process, outcome, and satisfaction evaluations were in the very high category._____________________________________________________________Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan dan menguji efektivitas panduan model Think-Pair-Share (TPS) untuk meningkatkan komunikasi empatik sebagai upaya pencegahan bullying pada siswa SMP.

Abstract

Final-year students frequently encounter academic anxiety as a result of the pressures associated with completing their thesis. This research aimed to examine the level of academic anxiety among final-year students with a focus on gender differences. A quantitative research method was utilized through a survey approach, involving 196 final-year students from Lambung Mangkurat University. Data collection was conducted using an academic anxiety scale adapted from Ottens. The data were analyzed through descriptive statistical methods and the Mann-Whitney U Test. The findings revealed no statistically significant difference in overall academic anxiety levels between male and female students. Nevertheless, female students were observed to experience higher levels of physiological distress in comparison to their male peers.

Abstract

Emotional and behavioural problems in early childhood are often overlooked, even though they can hinder children’s overall development. Kindergarten teachers play a vital role in identifying such issues and providing appropriate support. This community service project aimed to strengthen the competencies of teachers at TKITQ Bakkah Martapura through a one-day participatory training in guidance and counselling. The method involved pre-test, material presentation, group discussions, simulations, and post-test. The results revealed a significant improvement, with the average score increasing from 62.18 in the pre-test to 74.50 in the post-test. Beyond the numbers, teachers reported greater confidence in using simple tools for early detection as well as a better understanding of preventive and intervention strategies. In conclusion, a short yet practical training can have a meaningful impact on teachers’ competence. Nevertheless, ongoing support and follow-up programs are essential to ensure that the skills gained are consistently applied in classroom practice.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of dark humor on cyberbullying behavior among vocational high school (SMK) students. Using a quantitative approach with a simple linear regression design, it involved 88 SMK students selected via total purposive sampling. Data were gathered using the dark humor scale (Cronbach's α = 0.943) and cyberbullying scale (Cronbach's α = 0.867), both tested for validity and reliability. The hypothesis that dark humor positively affects cyberbullying behavior was confirmed, evidenced by the regression equation Y = 27.121 + 0.520X, correlation coefficient R = 0.661, coefficient of determination R² = 0.473 (47.3% contribution), F-value = 66.691 (Sig. = 0.000), and t-value = 8.166 (p < 0,001). Classical assumptions of normality (Kolmogorov-Smirnov Sig. = 0.119) and homoscedasticity were fulfilled. Dark humor significantly and positively influences cyberbullying among SMK students. This research enriches the psychological literature on cyberbullying by highlighting dark humor as a key predictor. The findings support developing school counseling programs to reduce dark humor tendencies and prevent cyberbullying
