Abstract

Stunting remains one of the major chronic nutritional problems and a serious challenge in Indonesia. This condition not only affects children’s physical growth but also impacts cognitive development, productivity, and the overall quality of human resources in the future. The Government of Indonesia has set a target to reduce the prevalence of stunting through various cross-sectoral programs, ranging from specific nutrition interventions to broader sensitive interventions. This article discusses the causes of stunting, prevention strategies involving the health, education, social, and economic sectors, as well as the role of public policy in supporting these efforts. A review of the literature indicates that reducing stunting requires an integrated approach focused on the First 1,000 Days of Life, improved access to health services, provision of nutritious food, community education, and stronger inter-agency coordination. The findings highlight that the success of stunting prevention depends not only on medical interventions but also on policy synergy, community participation, and long-term political commitment. With appropriate and sustainable strategies, Indonesia has the potential to achieve its stunting reduction targets in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 agenda.

Abstract

Antenatal care (ANC) is a key intervention to improve the health of pregnant women and their infants. The quality of ANC not only involves the early detection of pregnancy complications but also includes preventive measures, nutritional counseling, maternal mental health support, and the promotion of safe delivery. Evidence shows that high-quality ANC reduces maternal mortality (MMR) and infant mortality (IMR), as well as prevents preterm birth, low birth weight (LBW), and stunting. This narrative review highlights that adherence to the World Health Organization (WHO) standard of a minimum of eight ANC visits during pregnancy significantly contributes to better maternal and infant outcomes. Moreover, the quality of interactions between health providers and mothers, including comprehensive information sharing, is a critical determinant of ANC effectiveness. Therefore, improving the quality of antenatal care should be a priority in health policies, supported by competent health professionals, equitable access to services, and stronger community awareness of the importance of regular pregnancy check-ups.

Abstract

This research aims to improve children's social-emotional abilities through the application of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model at RA Bunayya IV. Social-emotional skills include aspects of cooperation, interaction and following rules and instructions, which are important foundations for early childhood development. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) with 2 cycles consisting of 2 meetings in 1 cycle, so that there are 4 meetings overall. The subjects of the study were 16 children of group A RA Bunayya IV. Data is collected through observations, anecdotal notes, or assessment tables, and documentation of activities. The results of the study show that the application of Project Based Learning (PjBL) can significantly improve children's social-emotional skills. The percentage of achievement of children's social-emotional skills increased to 94% in cycle II.
