Abstract

Durian, as a significant cultural and economic asset in Rembang Regency, the project engages a farmers' group to enhance seedling production and promote sustainable agricultural practices. Through a series of workshops and training sessions, participants gain hands-on experience in nursery management, propagation techniques, and organic farming methods. This initiative aims not only to improve the quality and yield of Criwick’s local durian seedlings but also to create economic opportunities within the community. By fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange, the project empowers local farmers to establish nurseries and increase their income potential. Additionally, the initiative emphasizes the importance of preserving traditional cultivation practices to ensure the sustainability of Criwick’s local durian varieties. The project ultimately demonstrates Criwick’s local durian nursery, which consists of seed germination, preparation of nursery media, fertilization, and maintenance. Through these community services, it is expected to provide high-quality Criwick’s local durian seedlings.  Criwick’s local durian seedlings can be used by the community for their own needs or sold. Revitalize the local economy, enhance agricultural resilience, and strengthen community ties. By investing in Criwick’s local durian seedling cultivation, this initiative aims to create lasting economic benefits and support the region's cultural heritage.

Abstract

Agribusiness Microfinance Institutions (LKMA) are micro-scale financial institutions prioritized for farmers initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia. The number of LKMA in Kendal Regency in 2015 was 277 in 20 sub-districts. In 2022, there were 28 active LKMA and 249 inactive LKMA. Many inactive LKMA are due to poor LKMA governance, so farmers cannot access financing for their business capital. This study uses a qualitative case study approach. The population in this study consisted of all LKMA leaders in Kendal Regency, and the sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The number of samples was the Head of LKMA Blorok, LKMA Anugerah Tani Makmur, LKMA Mekar Arum, LKMA Sendangmulyo, LKMA Sido Makmur, LKMA Sukma Sejahtera, LKMA Bina Tani, LKMA Tanam Sari, LKMA Gondang and LKMA Karangsari Sejahtera. Data analysis includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions using data validity techniques, namely data triangulation. The results of the study stated that the condition of LKMA in Quadrant I is growth with strategies that must be implemented, namely increasing capital through cooperation with the private sector and the government, the need for regional government regulations on LKMA governance, increasing soft skills and managerial skills in LKMA management, and providing agricultural insurance for LKMA members. This study implies that the Kendal Regency Government can make Regional Regulations on LKMA management guidelines to be used as guidelines in implementing LKMA governance for the sustainability of LKMA and improving the economy of farmers in Kendal Regency.

Abstract

The Melati Makmur Farmer Group in Mlatiharjo Village, Patean District, Kendal Regency, faces significant challenges in managing agriculture, particularly due to inefficient use of water and fertilizer. Manual irrigation of plants leads to resource waste and reduced crop yields. Additionally, pest attacks further decrease the quality of agricultural produce. This community service aims to introduce Internet of Things (IoT) technology to monitor soil moisture, temperature, and plant water needs in real time. With this technology, farmers can save up to 30% on water use and reduce pest damage. The methods employed include socialization, training, IoT sensor installation, and ongoing support in using the technology. The results show increased water-use efficiency, a 50% increase in crop yields, and farmers' ability to operate the technology effectively. Despite challenges related to infrastructure and farmer adaptation, the use of solar panels and intensive mentoring overcame these obstacles. In conclusion, the implementation of IoT technology has a positive impact on agricultural efficiency and can be further expanded in the agricultural sector.
