Abstract

This research focuses on the transformation of learning through the use of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) technologies in curriculum innovation in the digital era, using a case study at SMKN 1 Probolinggo. The background of this research is based on the urgent need for education to respond to 21st-century challenges through the integration of immersive, interactive, and contextual learning technologies. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results show that AR and VR technologies not only increase student motivation and understanding of the material but also encourage experiential learning and strengthen the link between the curriculum and the needs of the industrial world. In addition to pedagogical benefits, this study also uncovers implementation challenges such as device limitations, teacher readiness, and systemic integration within the curriculum. The implications of this research indicate that the success of technology-based learning innovations is determined not only by technical aspects, but also by institutional support, human resource training, and curriculum design that adapts to technological developments. This research is expected to serve as a reference for policymakers and education practitioners in developing relevant and transformative digital learning.

Abstract

This research focuses on the basic concept of quality management from an Islamic education perspective by examining the integration of spiritual values and professionalism in managerial practices at MA Nurul Jadid, Probolinggo. The background of this research is based on the need for Islamic educational institutions to implement a quality system that prioritizes not only technical and administrative aspects but also profound Islamic values such as ikhlas (sincerity), amanah (trustworthiness), and ihsan (goodness). This research used a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies with eight key informants. The results indicate that quality planning, implementation, and evaluation at MA Nurul Jadid are based on spiritual principles internalized in the institutional culture. These findings demonstrate that spirituality not only aligns with modern professionalism but also strengthens the moral legitimacy and effectiveness of holistic collaborative management. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of designing an Islamic education quality system that eliminates Islamic values as both a managerial and spiritual framework. These findings open new opportunities for the development of values-based quality management theory and provide strategic direction for future Islamic education quality policy.

Abstract

Digital transformation in educational institutions requires contextual negotiation between technological efficiency and institutional cultural values, particularly in religiously grounded settings such as Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). This study investigates the integration of digital service adaptation with local wisdom as the foundation of a sustainable business model at Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid (PPNJ), specifically examining three implemented platforms—E-Bekal, PSB Online, and Online Santri Visitation (OSV). A single qualitative case study design was employed, involving 12 purposively selected informants comprising pesantren leaders, administrative staff, parents, and students. Data were collected from October 2025 to January 2026 through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, and were analyzed using Miles et al.'s interactive model. Four primary themes emerged: (1) digitalization produces more structured and accurate service workflows; (2) parental access to services and information is substantially enhanced; (3) operational efficiency improves through reduction of manual administrative burden; and (4) pesantren-specific interaction and mentoring patterns are preserved and reinforced rather than displaced. These findings support the development of a "humanistic-digital" service framework in which technological efficiency and pesantren local wisdom—including tabarrukan, the kiai–santri hierarchy, and direct mentoring—function as complementary, mutually reinforcing foundations. This framework offers a theoretically grounded and practically transferable model for sustainable digital integration in value-based educational institutions.
