Abstract

Systolic blood pressure has limits. Knowledge improves behavior to prevent complications of hypertension. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge of hypertensive patients and compliance with taking antihypertensive drugs at the pekauman health center in Banjarmasin. This study was conducted descriptively quantitative Cross Sectional method using HFQ (Hypertension Fact Questionnare) questionnaire for knowledge and compliance level questionnaire using MMAS-8 (Morisky Medication Adherence Scale). The number of respondents involved amounted to 87 people who were selected by purposive sampling from hypertensive patients who visited in April-May 2024. Of the 87 patients studied, 39 patients (44.8%) showed moderate adherence, while 48 patients (55.2%). The results of the chi square test with a pvalue of 0.000 less than 0.05 indicate a relationship between knowledge and compliance at the pekauman health center in Banjarmasin.
