Abstract

Healthcare services are one of the fundamental aspects of improving public welfare. In Indonesia's healthcare system, the Social Security Administration Agency (BPJS Health) plays a crucial role in ensuring equal access to healthcare services for all citizens through the National Health Insurance (JKN) program. This study aims to analyze the relationship between service quality and patient satisfaction among BPJS Health users at RSUD Haji Makassar. This research employs a quantitative method with a survey approach, where data were collected using questionnaires distributed to BPJS Health patients receiving treatment at RSUD Haji Makassar. A total sample of 118 respondents was determined using the proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression tests through SPSS 23 software. The results indicate a positive and significant relationship between service quality and patient satisfaction, with a regression coefficient value of 0.471. This finding suggests that the better the service quality provided by the hospital, the higher the level of patient satisfaction. Additionally, the coefficient of determination (R²) value of 36.5% indicates that service quality contributes to patient satisfaction, while the remaining percentage is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. Based on these findings, it is recommended that RSUD Haji Makassar improve service timeliness, enhance the BPJS administration system, and strengthen the quality of interaction between medical personnel and patients.

Abstract

Hospitals play a strategic role in improving public health through high-quality healthcare services. To achieve this goal, hospitals must develop strategic policies covering various aspects, such as services, infrastructure, and human resource management. The effective implementation of strategic policies requires thorough planning, resource optimization, and adaptation to scientific and technological advancements. This study aims to examine the integration of strategic policies in the development of Faisal Islamic Hospital Makassar, using a qualitative approach with a case study method. The findings indicate that the hospital implements long-term strategic planning oriented toward community needs, enhances the competence of medical personnel, and develops infrastructure and technology to improve service efficiency. Additionally, funding strategies involving collaboration with various stakeholders and compliance with national health regulations are crucial factors in hospital management. However, in practice, the hospital faces several challenges, including budget constraints, a shortage of specialist medical personnel, and regulatory changes requiring quick adaptation. To address these challenges, Faisal Islamic Hospital Makassar adopts policy-strengthening strategies, such as enhancing cooperation with the government and private sector, optimizing digital technology, and formulating flexible internal policies that remain aligned with national regulations.

Abstract

Night shift workers in the modern retail sector, especially minimarkets such as Alfamart Makassar City, often face the risk of health problems due to changes in circadian rhythms, irregular diets, and lack of nutrition education. Work patterns that require them to be active at night have an impact on metabolic imbalances, sleep quality disorders, and unhealthy eating habits. Most workers tend to eat fast food that is high in calories, fat, and sugar, but low in fiber and micronutrients. This condition can increase the risk of fatigue, decreased immunity, and impaired concentration at work. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of nutritional nursing interventions in improving the diet and physical condition of night shift workers. The research approach used was descriptive with a case study method on 32 Alfamart workers who worked night shifts. The research was carried out for three days, namely on May 24-26, 2025. The interventions provided include nutrition education through brief counseling, monitoring of food and fluid intake, and assistance in developing a meal schedule that is in accordance with night work patterns. The results of the study showed a significant improvement in nutritional behavior. After the intervention, 84% of participants started implementing a healthy diet with a frequency of twice per shift, 93% increased their water consumption as recommended, and 72% felt refreshed and did not get tired easily while working. In addition, as many as 78% of participants showed high compliance with the nutritional recommendations given. These findings prove that nutritional nursing interventions have an important role in the promotion of occupational health. Proper nutrition education not only increases workers' awareness of the importance of a healthy diet, but also has an impact on increasing the productivity and welfare of night shift workers. Therefore, nutrition promotion programs should be part of the management policies of retail companies to maintain employee health.

Abstract

The rapid development of industry in the era of globalization has had a significant impact on occupational health and safety (OHS), including in Indonesia. The implementation of OHS programs is essential to prevent occupational accidents and work-related diseases, which continue to increase each year. This study aims to determine the relationship between workers’ knowledge and compliance in implementing the OHS program at PT Moratelindo Regional Makassar. This research employed an analytical survey design with a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of all 37 workers at PT Moratelindo, with 32 respondents selected as samples using a total sampling technique. The results showed that most respondents had good knowledge of OHS (90.6%), and their level of compliance with implementing OHS programs was also high (96.9%). The chi-square statistical test revealed a significant relationship between workers’ knowledge and compliance with OHS implementation, with a p-value of 0.002 (< α = 0.05). It can be concluded that workers’ knowledge is significantly associated with their compliance in implementing OHS programs.
