Abstract

Nutrition services in hospitals are an essential component in supporting the success of patient care. One of the key indicators of nutrition service quality is the menu acceptability, which refers to the level of patients’ preference and consumption of the meals served. Traditionally, the reporting of menu acceptability data has been performed manually using Microsoft Excel, which is time-consuming, prone to data entry errors, and less effective for rapid analysis and decision-making. This study aims to describe the application of Google Data Studio (GDS) in presenting food menu acceptability data visually and interactively in hospitals. The research uses a quantitative descriptive approach through observation and survey of nutritional personnel and processing of patients' food acceptability data. The results of the study show that the use of GDS simplifies the reporting process, increases time efficiency, and makes it easier to interpret data compared to manual methods using Excel. Respoden assessed that GDS helps present data in an informative and interactive manner, thereby supporting the data-driven decision-making process at the Nutrition Installation of the Dental and Oral Hospital of Hasanuddin University. It can be concluded that Google Data Studio has been shown to improve reporting efficiency and make it easier to visualize food acceptance data in hospitals. This system not only improves the efficiency and accuracy of reporting, but also strengthens evidence-based nutrition management in support of the hospital's digital transformation.

Abstract

Night shift workers in the modern retail sector, especially minimarkets such as Alfamart Makassar City, often face the risk of health problems due to changes in circadian rhythms, irregular diets, and lack of nutrition education. Work patterns that require them to be active at night have an impact on metabolic imbalances, sleep quality disorders, and unhealthy eating habits. Most workers tend to eat fast food that is high in calories, fat, and sugar, but low in fiber and micronutrients. This condition can increase the risk of fatigue, decreased immunity, and impaired concentration at work. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of nutritional nursing interventions in improving the diet and physical condition of night shift workers. The research approach used was descriptive with a case study method on 32 Alfamart workers who worked night shifts. The research was carried out for three days, namely on May 24-26, 2025. The interventions provided include nutrition education through brief counseling, monitoring of food and fluid intake, and assistance in developing a meal schedule that is in accordance with night work patterns. The results of the study showed a significant improvement in nutritional behavior. After the intervention, 84% of participants started implementing a healthy diet with a frequency of twice per shift, 93% increased their water consumption as recommended, and 72% felt refreshed and did not get tired easily while working. In addition, as many as 78% of participants showed high compliance with the nutritional recommendations given. These findings prove that nutritional nursing interventions have an important role in the promotion of occupational health. Proper nutrition education not only increases workers' awareness of the importance of a healthy diet, but also has an impact on increasing the productivity and welfare of night shift workers. Therefore, nutrition promotion programs should be part of the management policies of retail companies to maintain employee health.

Abstract

Stunting is a form of malnutrition characterized by height-for-age indicators. The height-for-age (H/A) indicator reflects chronic nutritional issues resulting from prolonged adverse conditions. The aim of this study is to identify the factors influencing the incidence of stunting in children aged 12–59 months in the working area of the Lobu Health Center, Banggai Regency. This research employs a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional study design. The population in this study consists of mothers with stunted children. A total of 85 respondents were selected as the sample using a total sampling technique. The independent variables in this study are maternal education level, family income, and feeding practices. The dependent variable is stunting. Data collection was conducted using questionnaires, and children's height was measured with a microtoise and converted into standard z-scores. The results indicate a significant effect of feeding practices on the incidence of stunting in children aged 12-59 months (p=0.002; r=0.326). Improved feeding practices are associated with a reduction in stunting rates in the working area of the Lobu Health Center, Banggai Regency, emphasizing the need to enhance feeding practices. Therefore, nurses and other healthcare professionals should intensify health promotion efforts regarding proper feeding practices for young children.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by elevated blood glucose levels due to impaired insulin secretion, insulin action, or both. Uncontrolled diabetes can lead to various complications and decreased quality of life. Moringa oleifera leaves contain bioactive compounds, including flavonoids, vitamins A, C, and E, as well as selenium, which possess antioxidant properties and are believed to help reduce blood glucose levels. This study aims to determine the effect of Moringa leaf decoction on reducing blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes mellitus in Padaleu Village, Kambu District, Kendari City. The study employs a quantitative pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The population consists of 35 diabetes mellitus patients, with 17 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Blood glucose levels are measured before and after the administration of Moringa leaf decoction using a glucometer and observation sheets. Respondents receive 200 ml of Moringa leaf decoction daily for five consecutive days. Data analysis is conducted using paired statistical tests to determine differences in blood glucose levels before and after the intervention. The findings of this study are expected to provide scientific evidence regarding the effectiveness of Moringa leaf decoction as a non-pharmacological therapy for controlling blood glucose levels among diabetes mellitus patients. Furthermore, the results may contribute to nursing science development and serve as a reference for healthcare providers and future researchers in implementing complementary therapies for diabetes management.
