Abstract

This research focuses on the analysis and development of a web-based information system designed to support the selection process of village officials in Kaleng Village, Puring District, Kebumen Regency. The study aims to create a system that ensures transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the recruitment process, which has traditionally been conducted manually and prone to errors. The system development method follows the Waterfall model, consisting of four main stages: requirement analysis, system design, implementation, and testing. Data for system requirements were collected through interviews with stakeholders, direct observations of the existing manual process, and document studies of administrative procedures and regulations. The system developed provides several core modules to support the recruitment process, including user registration, administrative selection, written test stages, and final announcement features. Each module is designed to align with the operational needs of the village government while also incorporating mechanisms to reduce potential bias and increase accountability. The registration module simplifies the submission of applicant data, while the administrative selection module verifies eligibility criteria. The written test stage allows standardized evaluation of candidates, and the announcement module ensures that results are communicated transparently and fairly to all participants. The implications of the research indicate that the system can significantly reduce manual errors, minimize administrative inefficiencies, and strengthen public trust in the recruitment process at the village level. Furthermore, the web-based design enables accessibility for both applicants and administrators, ensuring that information is easily available and verifiable. This study concludes that the implementation of a web-based information system for village official selection represents a strategic step toward modernizing local governance processes, fostering transparency, and promoting accountability in rural administration.

Abstract

Hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) are two non-communicable diseases with a high burden in primary healthcare and have become important areas of research on clinical decision support using large language models (LLMs) since 2024. Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) is increasingly used to ground LLM outputs in clinical guidelines, yet the specific contribution of embedding models as an independent variable remains underexplored. This scoping review aimed to map the 2024–2026 literature on the use of LLMs to support clinical decision-making for hypertension and T2DM and to identify existing research gaps. The review followed the Arksey and O’Malley framework and PRISMA-ScR reporting guidelines. Searches were conducted in Google Scholar, PubMed/PubMed Central, arXiv, and IEEE Xplore using Boolean combinations of terms related to LLMs, RAG, hypertension, and T2DM. Fifteen studies met the inclusion criteria. The findings indicate that RAG consistently improves answer accuracy and reduces hallucinations compared with prompting-only approaches, although its benefits decrease as the capabilities of the underlying model increase. Only one study directly manipulated the embedding model as an experimental variable and found trade-offs between general and domain-specific embeddings in retrieval sensitivity and specificity. No studies evaluated RAG or embedding models using Indonesian clinical texts. These findings support the potential of RAG for clinical decision support while highlighting the need for further research on embedding models in the Indonesian medical context.

Abstract

The rapid growth of Internet of Things (IoT) technology has motivated numerous studies to develop motion-based security systems that combine Passive Infrared (PIR) sensors with microcontrollers and instant-messaging platforms such as Telegram. A review of four recent studies on PIR-based IoT motion detection, however, shows that each system still carries partial limitations: some provide visual verification through a camera module but lack an offline data-retention mechanism, while others record activity to a cloud platform but do not capture images, leaving alerts without visual evidence. This study aims to synthesize the strengths and shortcomings of the four reviewed systems through a comparative literature analysis and to propose a refined system architecture that consolidates their complementary features while resolving their respective gaps. The research applies a descriptive-qualitative literature review combined with a design-science approach to formulate an enhanced architecture consisting of a PIR sensor, an ESP32-CAM module, a Telegram Bot API for dual text-and-image alerts, cloud-based data logging on ThingSpeak, and a local offline-backup mechanism using SPIFFS, supplemented with an adaptive debounce filter to reduce false triggers. The outcome of this study is a conceptual architecture, block diagram, and operational flowchart that integrate visual verification, persistent logging, and connectivity resilience within a single design, providing a more complete reference for future implementation of IoT-based motion detection security systems.

Abstract

Blind people often face various challenges in their daily lives, particularly when conducting cash transactions. The main difficulty they face is recognizing the nominal value of money and ensuring the authenticity of the money they receive. This directly impacts their financial independence, given that the ability to transact independently is a crucial aspect of their economic well-being. In this context, the community service program aims to improve the financial literacy of the blind community and identify their needs for assistive devices that can facilitate financial transactions. The method used in this program combines education with user-centered design. This approach involved 10 blind respondents from PERTUNI and ITMI Kebumen branches. Through a process consisting of a pre-test, post-test, and an in-depth survey, the program aimed to measure the extent to which educational interventions could improve blind people's knowledge regarding money security features. The results of this activity showed a significant increase in respondents' knowledge regarding money security aspects after receiving education. However, while education has successfully improved their financial literacy, the program also revealed another challenge that cannot be ignored: the physical quality of the money in circulation. Worn or damaged currency affects the ability of blind individuals to manually identify currency. Individual tactile sensitivity also varies greatly, making manual identification methods less reliable. Furthermore, needs mapping of the blind community confirms a high demand for assistive devices that can facilitate transactions. The desired devices must meet certain criteria, such as high portability, accuracy in identifying currency denominations, and clear audio feedback. Rechargeable batteries are also a key feature desired for ease of long-term use. Therefore, in addition to education, technological support, such as digital assistive devices, is essential to increase the independence of blind individuals in transactions. This technological support is expected to reduce dependence on others for transaction activities and improve their overall quality of life.
