Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the use of Differentiated Instruction (DI) strategies in responding to diverse learning needs in the classroom of students at MAS Darul Hadist Hutabaringin Kec. Siabu Kab. Mandailing Natal. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of DI can increase students' motivation, involvement, and understanding of the subject matter. Teachers apply grouping based on interests and abilities and vary learning methods to adjust to student characteristics, which contribute positively to their learning outcomes. The implementation of DI faces challenges in the form of limited time, resources, and learning facilities. Teachers need additional preparation to adapt materials and methods, and institutional support is needed so that the implementation of DI runs optimally. This study concludes that DI is an effective learning strategy in improving the quality of education in school environments with diverse learning needs, and recommends that schools support the implementation of DI through ongoing training and improving learning facilities.

Abstract

Modernisasi pendidikan Islam merupakan keniscayaan dalam menghadapi dinamika perkembangan zaman yang semakin kompleks. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji landasan teologis dan filosofis yang menjadi dasar modernisasi pendidikan Islam melalui pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif berbasis studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modernisasi pendidikan Islam memiliki landasan teologis yang kuat dalam Al-Qur'an, khususnya QS. Al-Hadid ayat 25, QS. Al-Imran ayat 110, QS. Ar-Ra'd ayat 11, dan QS. Al-Mujadila ayat 11, yang menekankan pentingnya keadilan, kebenaran, perubahan diri, dan peningkatan derajat melalui ilmu pengetahuan. Landasan dari hadis Nabi juga mengafirmasi urgensi menuntut ilmu sebagai kewajiban setiap Muslim, pentingnya ijtihad dalam memahami ajaran Islam secara kontekstual, serta kehadiran pembaharu di setiap masa untuk menjaga relevansi ajaran Islam. Secara filosofis, modernisasi pendidikan Islam didasari oleh kebutuhan rasional untuk menghadapi tantangan global, mengintegrasikan ilmu pengetahuan agama dan umum, memperkuat pembentukan karakter, serta meningkatkan aksesibilitas pendidikan. Modernisasi pendidikan Islam bukan bentuk westernisasi, melainkan proses rasionalisasi yang menyelaraskan nilai-nilai keislaman dengan kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi. Dengan demikian, pendidikan Islam modern diharapkan mampu melahirkan generasi yang beriman, berilmu, berakhlak mulia, dan mampu berkontribusi positif dalam peradaban global tanpa kehilangan identitas keislamannya.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of using Canva-based e-modules in Islamic Education (PAI) learning at SMA Negeri 1 Tambangan. The background of this research lies in the need to create innovative and interactive learning media that enhance students interest and understanding of Islamic Education materials. This qualitative research used observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The data were analyzed through data reduction, dwasplay, and verification using source, technique, and time triangulation. The results showed that Canva-based e-modules improved students motivation, participation, and comprehension in PAI learning. The modules appealing vwasuals and multimedia elements such as images, videos, and animations made the material easier to understand and encouraged active learning. Supporting factors include accessibility and interactive design, while challenges include limited internet access and digital literacy among teachers and students. Overall, the Canva-based e-module was proven to be an effective innovative learning medium for improving the quality of Islamic Education at the senior high school level.
