Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Identify suitable plants for the study site; (2) Determine the suitability of the land and factors limiting the growth of revegetation plants. The study site is the post-mining reclamation land of PT. Newmont Minahasa Raya as the Megawati Soekarno Putri Botanical Garden in Ratatotok, Southeast Minahasa, North Sulawesi. The benefits gained from efforts to preserve natural resources, particularly in the concept of environmental conservation, which is important for the continuity of the ecological system and reference. This study uses a descriptive method with a survey approach and is supported by soil analysis in the laboratory. Primary data includes vegetation data, soil and water conservation measures, topography, soil depth, surface drainage, surface rocks, rock outcrops, erosion hazards, and flood/flooding hazards. Observations and soil sampling were carried out along transects. The types of plants evaluated for suitability were mahogany, teak, sengon, mango, coconut, and clove. The data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods. The results of the study showed that (1) there were several types of local trees that grew naturally, which were also found in secondary forests, including: Kapur wood (Melanolepsis sp.), Ficus sp., Trema orientalis, Melinjo (Gnemo gnetum) and Nyatoh/Nantu (Palaqium sp), Cananga odorata, Koordersiodendron pinnatum, Cratoxylum sp.; (2) The suitability of the land for mahogany, teak, sengon, mango, clove, and coconut trees each has a subclass of S1 (very suitable), subclass S2eh (somewhat suitable), subclass S2rc (somewhat suitable), and subclass S2eh/rc (moderately suitable), and subclass S3eh/rc (marginally suitable) with limiting factors of erosion hazard and root medium.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the cost and revenue structure and evaluate the financial feasibility of the tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) seed production (hatchery) business. The breeding stage is a crucial early phase in the aquaculture production cycle. The feasibility evaluation encompassed calculations of the Revenue to Cost Ratio (R/C), Break-Even Point (BEP), and Return on Investment (ROI). The method employed was a profitability analysis using revenue theory, applying the R/C, BEP, and ROI formulas to the business's cost and revenue data. The results indicate that from a technical and technological perspective, all operational requirements for the hatchery were met, including location suitability, operational scale, pond management, and resource utilization, supported by a single-level distribution system. Economically, the business showed profitability and business viability. The total revenue reached IDR 79,552,083. The financial analysis yielded an R/C ratio of 1.5, signifying that every Rp1 spent generated IDR 1.5 in revenue. The production break-even point (BEP) was achieved at 12,635,416 fish seeds. It is concluded that the tilapia seed production business is comprehensively feasible and profitable for further development.

Abstract

Rice farming remains a vital sector for rural communities in Indonesia, but dependence on conventional systems has resulted in low productivity and economic instability for farmers. This activity aims to introduce the Rice-Duck-Turi (RDT) system as a sustainable Integrated Farming System (IFS) model applied to the Karya Makmur Farmer Group in Air Satan Village, Musi Rawas Regency. This approach integrates rice cultivation with duck farming in the fields and the planting of turi (Sesbania spp) on the embankments. The research method used a participatory approach through socialization, training, mentoring, and field evaluation activities. The results of this activity show that the Paitri system can reduce the use of chemical fertilizers by up to 25% and provide additional income through duck egg and meat production. The integration of turi plays a role in providing natural organic fertilizer and forage, while also improving soil fertility. This system also strengthens social solidarity and economic independence among farmers through mutual assistance and collective learning. The implementation of the Paitri system has proven to be an efficient, environmentally friendly, and economically valuable sustainable agricultural innovation that can be replicated in other rural areas to strengthen local food security.

Abstract

Rice productivity improvement is essential to support food security and sustainable agricultural development. This study aimed to evaluate the synergistic effects of amino acids and NPK fertilizer on growth dynamics, yield components, and grain productivity of the Inpari 32 rice variety (Oryza sativa L.). The experiment was conducted in Sukatani Village, Subang Regency, Indonesia, from July to October 2025 using a Randomized Block Design with nine treatment combinations consisting of three amino acid concentrations (5, 10, and 15 mL L⁻¹) and three NPK fertilizer doses (50, 100, and 150 kg ha⁻¹), replicated three times. Observed parameters included plant height, tiller number, leaf area index, productive tillers, panicle number, filled grains per panicle, 1000-grain weight, harvest dry grain yield, and milled dry grain yield. The results showed that the combination of 10 mL L⁻¹ amino acids and 100 kg ha⁻¹ NPK fertilizer produced the highest plant height (74.42 cm), tiller number (26.20 tillers), productive tillers (19.37), filled grains per panicle (126.57 grains), 1000-grain weight (26.50 g), and milled dry grain yield (7.93 kg plot⁻¹). The synergistic interaction between amino acids and NPK improved nutrient uptake efficiency and physiological performance, resulting in higher grain productivity. Therefore, the combined application of amino acids and NPK fertilizer can be recommended as an effective strategy for sustainable rice production.
