Abstract

There is no in-depth poetry teaching at MI-Darusslam Bungo Tanjung Village. This has an impact on the knowledge that students have regarding poetry reading techniques. held a poetry reading competition aimed at exploring and developing the potential of MI-Darussalam students. This activity aims to provide poetry reading training for MI-Darussalam students in Bungo Tanjung Village by implementing poetry reading techniques for students, so that students are expected to know about poetry and be able to read poetry well. The method used is the method of presenting material and mentoring so that the results are as expected. Based on the implementation of the poetry reading training activity for MI-Darussalam students in Bungo Tanjung Village which was carried out well and smoothly, it can be concluded as follows: first, this activity produced new knowledge for the students about poetry, especially poetry reading techniques. Second, students acquire various poetry reading teachniques such as vowels, pauses, intonation, expression and appreciattion.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilatarbelakangi oleh semakin menurunnya minat dan pemahaman peserta didik terhadap sastra daerah akibat pesatnya perkembangan teknologi informasi serta masuknya budaya populer secara masif ke dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Kondisi ini menimbulkan kekhawatiran, karena jika dibiarkan berlanjut maka generasi muda akan semakin jauh dari akar budayanya sendiri dan berisiko kehilangan identitas sebagai bagian dari masyarakat Melayu yang memiliki kekayaan warisan sastra tinggi. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan apresiasi puisi sekaligus memperkuat pemahaman siswa terhadap nilai-nilai luhur budaya Melayu melalui pembinaan apresiasi puisi Dendam Sijundai. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 23 Mei 2026 di SMA Negeri 15 Merangin dengan sasaran siswa kelas X dan XI.

Abstract

This community service article describes the implementation of tahsin Surah Al-Fatihah through a phonological approach aimed at improving the accuracy of Qur’anic recitation. The activity was conducted at MT. Nurul Khasanah RT 01 with fiveteen participants who were actively involved in Qur’anic learning. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, recitation practice, and documentation. The phonological approach focused on articulatory accuracy, sound differentiation, and pronunciation awareness according to makhraj and sifat al-huruf. The results show that threeteen out of fiveteen participants experienced significant improvement in their recitation accuracy after the tahsin session, particularly in vowel length, consonant articulation, and sound clarity. This program demonstrates that integrating phonological principles into tahsin activities effectively enhances Qur’anic reading quality and linguistic awareness among participants.
