Abstract

This study examines the manifestations of ecological consciousness in Arabic literature during the Pre-Islamic (Jāhiliyyah) and Early Islamic periods, focusing on the continuities and transformations in representations of the human–nature relationship. Using a comparative descriptive-analytical approach within the framework of ecocriticism, the research analyzes selected poetic texts through library-based study of relevant primary and secondary sources. The findings show that ecological consciousness in Pre-Islamic poetry was closely connected to the realities of desert life and survival. Natural elements such as deserts, mountains, rain, water, and animals were depicted as integral to human existence, cultural identity, and collective memory. In Early Islamic poetry, these ecological elements underwent a significant reinterpretation under the influence of the Islamic worldview of tawḥīd. Nature was no longer viewed solely as a physical environment but also as a manifestation of divine signs that reveal God’s power, wisdom, and providence. Consequently, elements such as water, mountains, the sky, light, and dawn acquired spiritual and ethical meanings that emphasized the interconnected relationship between humans, nature, and the Creator. The study concludes that Arabic poetry evolved from an adaptive-existential ecological consciousness in the Pre-Islamic era to a theo-ecological consciousness in the Early Islamic period while preserving a profound sensitivity to the natural environment.

Abstract

This study examines the Qur’anic portrayal of the Jews (Bani Israil) and its relevance to the Palestine–Israel conflict. The research aims to analyze Qur’anic verses concerning Bani Israil through a thematic (maudhu‘i) tafsir approach and to relate them to the historical dynamics of the Palestine–Israel conflict. This study employs a qualitative methodology using thematic and historical-critical approaches, with the Qur’an as the primary source, supported by classical and medieval Qur’anic exegesis as well as modern historical studies. The findings indicate that the Qur’anic critique of Bani Israil is behavioral and moral in nature rather than an ethnic generalization, and that it bears relevance to the practices of Zionist ideology in the context of occupation and oppression of the Palestinian people.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Tikrar method in improving the ability to read and memorize the Qur'an among 7th-grade boarding program students at Al-Wildan Islamic School 3 BSD City. The primary focus is to evaluate the effectiveness of systematic repetition techniques in overcoming memorization retention barriers and tajwid accuracy. This research employs a mixed-methods approach with an explanatory sequential design. Qualitative data were gathered through participant observation and in-depth interviews, while quantitative data were obtained through pre-test and post-test instruments. Qualitative results indicate that the Tikrar method is implemented through three main stages: ability mapping planning, execution with intensive repetition (10-40 times), and routine evaluation through tasmi’. Quantitatively, the paired sample t-test yielded a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) with a mean score difference of -14.659. These findings prove a significant improvement in students' reading and memorization abilities following the intervention. The study concludes that the Tikrar method effectively strengthens long-term memory and reading fluency, supported by a disciplined boarding ecosystem as a key factor in achieving learning targets.
