Abstract

The process of using the science or art of effectively and efficiently arranging or managing natural resources and other resources is known as human resource management.  The objective is to plan, carry out, organize, and finish a variety of tasks pertaining to the supply of resources in order to accomplish predefined objectives. The purpose of this study is to characterize restructuring, competency, work commitment, and employee performance, as well as to examine how work commitment affects restructuring and competency. This study was conducted at the Sultan Thaha Saifuddin Rectorate State Islamic University in Jambi, Indonesia.   Both primary and secondary data were used in this investigation.   The sample consisted of 77 respondents.  The sample strategy used was proportional stratified random sampling. Both descriptive and quantitative analytical methods were used. In the quantitative investigation, the Partial Least Squares (PLS) approach was used for path analysis. SmartPLS 3.0 software facilitated data processing. The descriptive analysis's findings show that the State Islamic University of Sultan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi's Rectorate was judged suitable for restructuring. At the Rectorate of UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi, restructuring and competency both have a favorable and considerable impact on employee job dedication, according to verification study. Both job commitment and competence were found to have a good and considerable impact on employee performance.  Restructuring did not, however, appear to have a major direct impact on worker performance.  However, when increased job dedication was used as a mediating construct, restructuring still had a favorable and substantial effect on worker performance. As a result, work dedication serves as a mediating factor that amplifies the impact of competency and restructuring on worker performance.  Therefore, improving competency and job dedication with the help of suitable organizational restructuring is a more effective way to boost employee performance.

Abstract

Employee performance is a crucial factor in the success of public sector organizations. Although various studies have shown that leadership style and organizational culture influence employee performance, previous research findings have been inconsistent, particularly regarding the direct influence of leadership style on performance and the role of organizational commitment as a mediating variable. This study aims to analyze the influence of leadership style and organizational culture on employee performance through organizational commitment at the Muaro Jambi Regency DPRD Secretariat. The study employed a quantitative approach with a survey method through questionnaires distributed to employees. Data were analyzed using PLS-SEM to test the direct and indirect relationships between variables. The results showed that leadership style and organizational culture had a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment. Organizational culture and organizational commitment also had a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Conversely, leadership style did not have a significant direct effect on employee performance. However, organizational commitment was shown to mediate the influence of leadership style and organizational culture on employee performance. These findings indicate that improving employee performance is more effectively achieved through strengthening organizational culture and organizational commitment than through direct leadership style. The novelty of this research lies in the empirical evidence that organizational commitment acts as a mediating mechanism that explains why leadership style does not have a direct effect on employee performance in public sector organizations, especially in the Muaro Jambi Regency DPRD Secretariat.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the declining number of employees at PT. Kiki Ratu Intan Express Jambi, which indicates low employee engagement, allegedly caused by burnout, job stress, and job satisfaction. The research gap in this study lies in the inconsistency of previous findings regarding the effect of burnout on job satisfaction, as well as the mediating role of job satisfaction in the relationship between burnout and job stress on employee engagement. This study aims to examine the effect of burnout and job stress on employee engagement, with job satisfaction as a mediating variable. The research method employs a quantitative approach with a saturated sample of 70 employees. Data analysis was conducted using SmartPLS. The results show that job stress and burnout significantly affect employee engagement, while job satisfaction mediates the effect of job stress on employee engagement but does not mediate the effect of burnout. The novelty of this research lies in the finding that burnout affects employee engagement directly without passing through job satisfaction, in contrast to job stress, whose effect is mediated by job satisfaction. The research model explains 79.4% of the variance in employee engagement. This study recommends stress management and burnout prevention as strategies to improve employee engagement.

Abstract

This study is supported by theories related to leadership, compensation, job satisfaction, and employee performance. Additionally, the author utilizes relevant prior research—including journals and theses—to support the study. The population for this study consists of all employees in the Harvesting Division of PT Velindo Aneka Tani, Maro Sebo Ulu, Batanghari Regency. A saturated sampling technique was employed, involving 65 respondents; thus, the entire population served as the study's respondents. The data analysis technique used is Path Analysis, followed by hypothesis testing via simultaneous and partial tests. The results indicate that leadership, compensation, job satisfaction, and employee performance fall into the "good" category. Leadership and compensation—both simultaneously and partially—have a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. Leadership and compensation also positively and significantly influence employee performance, both directly and indirectly through job satisfaction as an intervening variable. Furthermore, job satisfaction was found to have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. The results also demonstrate that job satisfaction mediates the relationship between leadership and compensation and employee performance. Consequently, improving leadership quality and providing appropriate compensation can enhance job satisfaction, ultimately leading to improved employee performance. This study concludes that leadership and compensation positively influence employee performance, both directly and through job satisfaction. Job satisfaction acts as an intervening variable that strengthens the relationship between leadership and compensation and employee performance within the Harvesting Division of PT Velindo Aneka Tani, Maro Sebo Ulu, Batanghari Regency.
