Abstract

The Agroforestry and intercropping farming systems are carried out by farmers in managing their cocoa cultivations due to limited land and the availability of commodities to support household needs. This system is maintained because it impacts increasing farmers’ income, maintaining local horticulture commodities and fulfilling the social needs of these commodities.  This research uses a qualitative approach, with Focus Group Discussions involving farmers, NGOs, government, and other stakeholders. The results showed that agroforestry as an alternative to indigenous farming for cocoa farmers in Polewali Mandar Regency positively impacted farmer institutions, increasing income and meeting the needs of farmer households. The existence of farmer-NGO partnerships has helped change farmer institutions. Still, it has not altered local institutions that have become farmers' habits in managing farmland, including utilizing cocoa farms by intercropping. There has been a significant change on cocoa farmers from producing non-fermented cocoa to fermented and certified cocoa. Besides that, there is an increase in farmers' income by integrating cocoa - goats by utilizing shade trees in cocoa gardens as animal feed, producing organic fertilizers and pesticides from goat urine, and creating a market for inter-crop commodities such as cocoa, coconut, ginger, and locally grown fruits. all are in the same garden. Agroforestry as an alternative to indigenous farming must be maintained because it can increase farmers' income, also offers solutions to land degradation, and provides environmental services so it is expected to be able to guarantee sustainability and on the one hand, continue to support the achievement of an inclusive market for cocoa.

Abstract

Student learning outcomes should be the main focal point in learning. Good learning outcomes show the level of students' understanding of the teaching material, as well as the success of teachers in carrying out learning in the classroom. The study aims to determine the differences in student learning outcomes taught using LKS Kharisma and LKS PAIKEM on the material of the human circulatory system. The type of research used is quantitative, namely a comparative study or comparative study with a total sample of 38 people. The sample was selected using the cluster random sampling technique. The instruments used are tests and observations. Tests are carried out to determine student learning outcomes and observation is used to objectively determine learning conditions. The data analysis technique used is to use the t-test. The results of the analysis showed that there were differences in student learning outcomes taught using LKS Kharisma and LKS PAIKEM on the material of the human circulatory system. The average score of students who studied using LKS PAIKEM was 73.84 and students who studied with LKS Kharisma obtained an average score of 64.74

Abstract

This research aims to determine the productivity of clove plants (Zyzigium Sp.) in the Siritaun Wida Timur District of East Seram Timur Regency. Three selected villages chosen as research samples are ADM Keta Kwaos Village, ADM Keta Rumadhan Village, and ADM Liantasik Village. The type of research is quantitative descriptive, and the method used in this research is a survey. The respondents from each village constitute 30% of the total clove farmers. The research results show that clove plant production from 2017-2019 is relatively stable, but in 2018 the production drastically decreased. This is due to cultivation factors and climate change factors that occurred in the three villages.

Abstract

Dalam proses penyulingan minyak kayu putih terdapat limbah organik sisa daun yang tidak dimanfaatkan. Limbah tersebut dapat dicampur dengan tanah untuk dijadikan sebagai media tumbuh tanaman. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menjelaskan peran media  tumbuh dalam perkecambahan benih dan pertumbuhan bibit cengkeh hutan. Penelitian dilakukan di Kecamatan Sirimau Kota Ambon, Maluku berlangsung sejak Agustus 2022-Maret 2023. Benih diambil dari kecamatan Leihitu Kabupaten Maluku Tengah. Perlakuan limbah organik, yaitu : P0 = kontrol; P1= BO 20 %; P2 = BO 40 %; P3 = BO 60 %; P4 = BO 80 %. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Berblok dengan 3 ulangan. Variabel yang diamati meliputi persen daya kecambah, vigor benih, tinggi bibit, jumlah daun, dan  luas daun, faktor koreksi (fc) 0.65. Data dianalisis statistik meliputi Analisis Ragam (Anova) dan uji beda Fisher’s. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan limbah organik berpengaruh signifikan terhadap perkecambahan benih dan pertumbuhan bibit cengkeh hutan dengan nilai R2  perkecambahan benih sebesar 76.5 %, korelasinya sangat kuat (r = 0.87). Nilai R2  pertumbuhan bibit sebesar 73.83 % korelasinya (r = 0.85). Pertumbuhan bibit cengkeh hutan terbaik dicapai taraf limbah organik berkisar antara 57.9-58.12 %.
