Abstract

This study investigates the language acquisition of children aged 10-12, focusing on their linguistic development in morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. Conducted at SDN 047 Balonggede, Bandung, the research employs a qualitative descriptive method. Data was collected through observation of four students during classroom activities. The findings reveal that children at this age demonstrate significant advancements in language acquisition. Their ability to form complex sentences, use appropriate morphological structures, and comprehend both literal and contextual meanings highlights their developing linguistic competence. However, challenges such as discrepancies between academic language and daily communication, as well as the influence of technology on language development, were also identified. These findings underline the importance of tailored teaching materials that reflect children's existing linguistic abilities. The study concludes that an immersive language environment and active interaction are crucial for facilitating effective language acquisition in children aged 10-12.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the language attitudes of Indonesian Language Pre-service Teacher Education (PPG) students, Batch 1, 2023, at Universitas Pasundan, towards the preservation of the Sundanese language. This research used a descriptive quantitative method, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 20 students. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to depict students’ attitudes in three aspects of language attitudes: loyalty, pride, and awareness of language norms. The results showed that students' attitudes towards the Sundanese language were more positive in family and neighborhood contexts but declined in educational and technological contexts. In general, students displayed a positive attitude towards the Indonesian language and favored foreign languages in formal and digital communication. These findings indicate that efforts to preserve the Sundanese language require more attention in educational and technological realms to prevent it from being overshadowed by the dominance of national and international languages.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) supported by Dart Board media in teaching anecdotal text writing to develop students’ creative thinking skills. The research aims to describe both the instructional process and the impact of PBL with Dart Board media on students’ anecdotal writing. A qualitative research design was employed, involving classroom observations, interviews, and document analysis conducted in one senior high school in Padalarang. The participants consisted of 31 students. Data were analyzed through data reduction, display, verification, and cyclical coding across two instructional cycles. The findings indicate that the application of PBL assisted by Dart Board media positively influenced the learning process, as reflected in increased student participation, greater diversity of ideas, and improved originality in students’ anecdotal texts. However, the study also identified challenges, particularly the extended instructional time required for effective implementation. These findings suggest that while PBL integrated with interactive media has strong potential to enhance creative writing skills, careful consideration of time management and classroom space is essential to maximize its effectiveness. Overall, this study supports the use of interactive and problem-based instructional strategies to foster creativity in writing instruction
