Abstract

This study was conducted to determine whether there is an influence of the make a match type cooperative learning model on critical thinking skills and an increase in critical thinking skills by implementing the make a match type cooperative model on students at SDN 2 Mayong Kidul. This study uses a quantitative research type with a pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest design approach. The sample used was 15 students. Data collection techniques were observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The results showed that there was a value of the influence of the difference in the average pretest and posttest scores, namely 68.6667 and 83.3333. This statement is supported by the results of the paired sample t-test showing that there was a difference in the average pretest and posttest scores in learning using the make a match type cooperative learning model on the critical thinking skills of grade IV students at SDN 2 Mayong Kidul. Data analysis using the N-Gain test obtained an average value of 0.4920 <0.7 so that it shows a moderate category.
