Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of applying line art techniques on improving creativity in drawing geometric decorative motifs among fifth-grade students at SDN 101764 Bandar Klippa. This study used a quantitative approach with a true experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group design. The study population consisted of 47 students, with a sample of 32 students, consisting of 16 students in the experimental class and 16 students in the control class, selected through random sampling. Data collection techniques used observation sheets, interviews, and a creativity assessment rubric. Data analysis was conducted through normality and homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using the Independent Sample T-Test with SPSS. The results showed that the average post-test score in the experimental class was 65.94, higher than the average score in the control class (61.50). Furthermore, the results of the hypothesis test showed a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.044 < 0.05, thus H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of line art techniques significantly improves students' creativity in drawing geometric decorative motifs. The application of line art techniques has been proven to enhance aspects of students' creativity, including fluency of ideas, flexibility, originality, and detail in drawing. Therefore, line art techniques can be used as an effective alternative learning method to enhance student creativity in fine arts lessons in elementary schools.

Abstract

Generation Alpha, born after 2010, has a learning style that is responsive to technology-based visual, auditory, and kinesthetic media. In the technological era, the ability to adapt is key for teachers. This research uses a mixed method by combining quantitative and qualitative approaches. The subjects of the study consisted of 12 elementary school teachers from different schools. Data collection was conducted through a questionnaire using Google Forms, consisting of closed-ended and open-ended questions. Quantitative data was analyzed using percentages to determine respondents’ response tendencies, while qualitative data was analyzed by summarizing respondents’ answers. Furthermore, this research was supported by a literature review of relevant journals and books. This study aimed to determine teachers’ adaptation strategies in addressing changes in Generation Alpha’s learning styles in the digital age. The results showed that Generation Alpha has learning characteristics influenced by developments in digital technology, such as the ability to use technological devices from an early age and a greater interest in digital-based learning compared to conventional methods. Therefore, teachers need to implement various adaptation strategies, such as collaboration between teachers, simple blended learnin, and the gradual use of digital media. Therefore, improving teachers’ digital competencies and securing support from various parties is necessary to ensure the learning process runs effectively and aligns with the characteristics of Generation Alpha in the digital age.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model, supported by the congklak game as a teaching aid, on the mathematics learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SDN 101776 Sampali regarding the topics of Least Common Multiple (LCM) and Greatest Common Factor (GCF). The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method and a pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of two classes: Class 5A, the experimental class, which received instruction using the STAD model supplemented with the congklak game; and Class V-B served as the control group, receiving instruction via the method frequently employed by the teacher (Problem-Based Learning).. The research instrument was a multiple-choice test that had passed validity, reliability, difficulty level, and discriminative power tests. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and pretest and posttest assessments, then analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and an Independent Samples t-test with the aid of IBM SPSS Statistics 26. The results showed that the average posttest score for the experimental class was 78.25, while that for the control class was 56.50. The improvement in learning outcomes in the experimental class was 70.5%, which was higher than that of the control class at 36.8%.The results of the hypothesis test show a t-value of 6.404 with degrees of freedom (df) = 38 and a significance level (Sig., 2-tailed) of 0.000. Since 0.000 < 0.05, H₀ is rejected and H₁ is accepted. Thus, the STAD cooperative learning model, supported by the congklak game as a teaching aid, has a positive and significant effect on students’ mathematics learning outcomes in the topics of LCM and GCF. This model has been proven to be more effective than PBL in improving the mathematics learning outcomes of elementary school students.
