ABSTRACT This study aims to improve the motivation to learn mathematics in fifth grade students of SDN 1 Putrapinggan through the application of reward and punishment methods on the subject of FPB and KPK. The research method used is the Classroom Action Research (CAR) model of Kemmis and McTaggart, which was carried out in three cycles including the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 25 students. The results showed a gradual increase in learning motivation. The average student motivation increased from 36% in the pre-action to 84% in cycle III. In addition, the quality of planning, learning implementation, and teacher activities also experienced a significant increase in each cycle. Thus, the application of reward and punishment methods has proven effective in fostering learning enthusiasm, increasing student participation, and creating a more interactive and enjoyable learning atmosphere in the classroom. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar matematika siswa kelas V SDN 1 Putrapinggan melalui penerapan metode reward dan punishment pada materi FPB dan KPK. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan McTaggart, yang dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 25 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan motivasi belajar secara bertahap. Rata-rata motivasi siswa meningkat dari 36% pada pratindakan menjadi 84% pada siklus III. Selain itu, kualitas perencanaan, pelaksanaan pembelajaran, dan aktivitas guru juga mengalami peningkatan signifikan setiap siklusnya. Dengan demikian, penerapan metode reward dan punishment terbukti efektif dalam menumbuhkan semangat belajar, meningkatkan partisipasi siswa, serta menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif dan menyenangkan di kelas.
