Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of attitude assessment for fourth-grade students in the learning process at elementary schools based on interviews with class teachers. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using a case study method, involving fourth-grade teachers as participants through semi-structured interviews and attitude assessment documentation. The results show that attitude assessment is conducted continuously through behavior observation, event recording, the use of rubrics and checklists, and intensive interaction between teachers and students. Consistent feedback and parental involvement also support the effectiveness of the assessment. The study identified challenges, such as limited time and a large number of students, which can be minimized through systematic and contextual assessment strategies. Thus, attitude assessment functions not only as an evaluation tool but also as an integral means of character development, supporting the social, emotional, and moral growth of students in accordance with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve fourth-grade elementary school students' conceptual understanding and mathematics learning outcomes on multiplication and division of whole numbers through the group discussion method. The study employed Classroom Action Research based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The participants were 10 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation and analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. The results showed an improvement in learning outcomes, with the average score increasing from 51.50 in the pre-cycle to 66.50 in Cycle I and 80.50 in Cycle II. Learning mastery also increased from 10% to 50%, reaching 90% in Cycle II. Therefore, the group discussion method was effective in improving students' conceptual understanding and mathematics learning outcomes.
