Abstract

Pawon Mburi Catering uses plastic bottles with screw caps for packaging beverage products. The process of installing the lid which must be rotated with a little pressure causes problems of fatigue and abrasions on the fingers. A tool is needed for this packaging process. The aim of this community service is to design and implement a simple bottle cap tool technology. The design of the tools is carried out according to the size of the bottle cap used. Bottle closing aids are made from easily available materials and easy to manufacture. The material for the tool frame was chosen to be wood. A pair of bolts with threaded groove is used to hold the bottle cap so that it does not shift when rotated by utilizing the ribbed grooves on the bottle cap. This equipment has been used in the production process of takjil orders at the Pawon Mburi UMKM. The implementation of this bottle cap tool make the process of installing bottle caps easier. Installation of the cap is lighter and the fingers are protected from fatigue and abrasions.

Abstract

A small business of bread and cakes has a technical problem which conventional oven that obtained from the public market does not match the needs. Oven has an important role in getting optimal product quality. One important operational parameter of the oven is temperature control. This article aims to describe the application of oven technology with LPG fuel. The application is done with an oven design according to the needs of the small businesses. Tangkring type oven has a relatively cheap price and easy operation and maintenance. On the other hand, there are weaknesses, namely small capacity, short service life, difficult temperature control and large heat losses. Oven modification is done to minimize these weaknesses. The oven wall is made with two-sided galvanized plates where the two plates are filled with glasswool as a heat insulating material so that the heat released through the oven wall is relatively small. Fire regulation is done with the opening of the fuel channel valve. The fuel pipe in the oven chamber uses a 3/8 inch diameter gas pipe which is given a fire pit with 1 mm in diameter. Fire setting is obtained with a fire height of ± 1.5 cm to get a temperature of 100-120oC. With this setting, the oven reaches a temperature of ± 100oC in about 3 minutes. The result shows that this application based on appropriate technology is very suitable for the needs of small businesses.

Abstract

The "Moro Mlaku" welding workshop carried out construction work on gate ornaments with 3.5 meters in high and 7.30 meters span. Frame construction with a long span size requires spesific design to obtain safe frame strength. This partner workshop does not have experience handling work like this. This community service activity aims to assist the aspects of the design and implementation of gate construction work in the welding workshop. Activities are carried out using design discussion and assistance methods, material selection, connection types, manufacturing processes as well as transportation and installation. Abstract

PKK groups in rural areas have significant potential in developing home-based micro-enterprises; however, limited financial literacy often becomes a major constraint in achieving sustainable business management. This community service program aimed to enhance the business independence of PKK groups in Landungsari Village through simple financial management training focusing on daily transaction recording, cost of production (COP) calculation, and pricing determination. The program was implemented through four stages: needs assessment, training module development, training implementation combined with on-site mentoring, and outcome evaluation. The results indicated a substantial improvement in participants’ understanding of basic financial management concepts. All participants were able to apply daily cash bookkeeping, with recording accuracy increasing from 65% in the first week to 92% in the third week. Furthermore, most participants began separating personal and business finances, calculating the cost of production, and setting more rational selling prices. On-site mentoring played a critical role in strengthening the consistency of financial recording practices and encouraging behavioral changes toward more professional business management. In conclusion, simple and context-based financial management training effectively improved the financial literacy and business independence of PKK groups. The program demonstrates that practical and participatory approaches can significantly strengthen women-led micro-enterprises. Continuous mentoring and follow-up training are recommended to ensure the sustainability of financial management practices within PKK-based businesses.
