Abstract

Hypertension is a health problem that has a high prevalence of occurrence both globally, nationally and regionally. Hypertension is also related to adherence to taking medication to control blood pressure progressively, for that it is necessary to increase adherence to taking medication through nursing education using one of the leaflet media. This study aims to analyze the Effectiveness of Nursing Education on Patient Compliance in Taking Hypertension Medication at the North City Community Health Center, Gorontalo City. The quantitative method with the research design used in the study is quantitative with a pre-experimental pre-post test design approach. The sample was selected through a purposive sampling method, with a sample of 42 respondents with hypertension in the North City Community Health Center work area. Data analysis used a paired t-test with significance (<0.05). The results of the study showed that Nursing Education was Effective in Increasing Patient Compliance in Taking Hypertension Medication at the North City Community Health Center, Gorontalo City, as evidenced by the p-value (0.000 <0.05). This study recommends the need for regular evaluation of medication adherence to prevent ongoing complications in patients with hypertension.
