Abstract

Objective: This research aims to develop a 2D technological visualization that integrates the application of Newton’s Third Law into pencak silat movements, providing a contextual bridge between physics concepts and traditional martial arts. The objective is to enhance students’ motivation and conceptual understanding by presenting the action–reaction principle through culturally relevant motion analysis. Method: The study employed a qualitative descriptive method with data collected from literature analysis and expert interviews involving pencak silat practitioners and physics educators. The visualization design was then refined to display key pencak silat techniques such as stances, strikes, and blocks—while mapping the corresponding forces of action and reaction.  Results:  2D visualization is effective in clarifying how Newton’s Third Law operates within martial movements, making abstract concepts more tangible. Teachers and students reported that the visualization improved comprehension, engagement, and learning motivation. Moreover, the concise two-dimensional format allowed force interactions to be represented clearly without overwhelming detail, supporting efficient classroom integration.  Novelty: This research lies in merging local cultural heritage with interactive technological media, transforming pencak silat not only as a form of art and self-defense but also as an innovative educational tool for learning physics. This approach highlights how digital visualization can preserve tradition while modernizing science education, thus offering a meaningful model for contextual and technology-enhanced learning

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to identify various forms of digital technology used in physics learning to support sustainable education, analyze how these technologies are integrated into the physics learning process, and examine the challenges and opportunities of implementing technology-enhanced physics education for sustainable development. Method: This study employed a qualitative approach, using a literature review to examine prior research on technology-enhanced physics education. The dataset consisted of 20 journal articles published between 2017 and 2025, retrieved from Scopus and Google Scholar. Results: The findings indicate that various forms of digital technology, such as simulations, virtual laboratories, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and digital learning resources, are widely used in physics education. These technologies support the visualization of abstract physics concepts, increase students’ engagement and motivation, and improve conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills. The reviewed studies also show that digital technologies are frequently integrated with pedagogical approaches such as problem-based learning, flipped classroom learning, and scaffolding strategies to create more interactive and student-centered learning environments. In addition, several challenges were identified, including limitations in technological infrastructure and teachers’ readiness to integrate digital tools in teaching practices. Novelty: This study contributes to the existing literature by synthesizing recent research on integrating digital technology into physics education for sustainable development. It identifies the types of digital technologies, their pedagogical integration, and the challenges and opportunities associated with their implementation, providing insights for future research and the development of more effective technology-enhanced physics learning.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to systematically examine publication trends, dominant technologies, implementation strategies, educational impacts, challenges, and future directions in learning analytics and adaptive learning systems to improve students’ problem-solving skills in sustainable education contexts. Method: Research employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Articles were collected from Scopus, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, Springer, IEEE Xplore, and Google Scholar using predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. From 1,487 initial records, 20 articles published between 2022 and 2026 in Scopus-indexed Q1–Q3 journals were selected for in-depth thematic analysis.  Results:  The findings reveal a growing research trend toward intelligent and personalized learning systems. Intelligent tutoring systems, adaptive learning platforms, predictive analytics, augmented reality, and gamification emerged as the most frequently used technologies. These technologies were found to improve self-regulated learning, collaboration, higher-order thinking, and students’ problem-solving performance across various educational contexts.  Novelty: This review offers a comprehensive analytical framework that integrates learning analytics, adaptive learning systems, problem-solving skills, and sustainable education, which have largely been examined separately in prior reviews.
