Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine how the Learning Management System (LMS) helped Junior High School X in Magetan Regency adopt Seamless Learning in mathematics instruction during the 2024–2025 academic year. The difficulties of learning abstract mathematics and the necessity of digital change in education serve as the foundation for this study. Teachers and students are the research subjects in this qualitative study that uses a case study technique. Observation, interviews, and LMS activity analysis are methods of gathering data that are subsequently subjected to theme analysis. The findings show that the LMS functions as a learning monitoring tool that promotes ongoing learning, a venue for interaction, and a medium for information distribution. The LMS's adoption has been successful in raising student engagement, learning autonomy, and comprehension of mathematical concepts. Additionally, the LMS makes it easier to integrate learning across formal and informal contexts, as well as online and offline, which is a crucial aspect of seamless learning. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 4 on Quality Education, which highlights the significance of inclusive, equitable, and technology-based access to education, are in line with these findings. As a result, using LMS can be a successful tactic for raising the standard of math instruction in the digital era.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemanfaatan Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) sebagai alat bantu dalam tugas administratif dan persiapan pembelajaran guru di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) di Kabupaten Magetan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus pada dua madrasah (MI X dan MI Y), dengan subjek utama guru. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi, serta dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis tematik dan triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Generative AI berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan efisiensi kerja guru, terutama dalam penyusunan RPP, silabus, dan materi ajar. Selain itu, penggunaan AI juga berdampak pada peningkatan kualitas perencanaan pembelajaran melalui struktur yang lebih sistematis dan variasi metode pembelajaran. Namun, terdapat perbedaan tingkat pemanfaatan antara kedua madrasah yang dipengaruhi oleh literasi digital, persepsi terhadap teknologi, serta ketersediaan infrastruktur. Tantangan yang dihadapi meliputi validitas konten, potensi ketergantungan, serta keterbatasan akses teknologi. Dalam kerangka SDG 4 (Quality Education), pemanfaatan Generative AI berpotensi mendukung peningkatan kualitas pendidikan melalui efisiensi kerja guru dan penguatan proses pembelajaran. Namun, implementasinya memerlukan pendekatan yang seimbang antara teknologi, pedagogi.

Abstract

In the Indonesian educational system, teachers function as both educators and administrators; managing a large number of occupational processes critical for the functioning of the school, as well as meeting policy compliance mandates. This situation is particularly pronounced in public and rural schools which tend to be understaffed and under resourced. This leads to heightened levels of teacher stress, burnout, and poor quality of education. The recent emergence of generative text Artificial Intelligence (AI) provides new opportunities for alleviating the administrative burdens of teachers. Modern AI writing tools can perform report writing, lesson outline creation, and data entry due to their ability to human-equivalent compose. Such tools are likely to increase teachers’ productivity, reduce burnout, and improve the amount of time geared towards teaching interacting with students rather than monotonous work. Furthermore, the ability of AI to personalize instruction to vernaculars and the local curriculum strengthens its case for the diverse educational context of Indonesia. Research reveals that trust issues with AI content generators, cultural relevance of the material, concerns regarding data privacy, security, inequitable digital competences among staff members, as well as infrastructural gaps create formidable challenges towards effective AI integration. Additionally, the challenge concerning the potential impact of excessive dependence on AI systems on the professional evaluative skills of teachers also needs attention. This study provides an Indonesian perspective to inform diverse stakeholders policymakers, educators, and technology designers regarding the literature and case studies examining the advantages and disadvantages of generative text AI on the administrative burden of Indonesian teachers. The study advocates for the use of AI technologies that are secure, culturally relevant, inclusive, as well as sensitive and accessible to empower teachers for improved functionality beyond mere administration, to enhance the quality of education in Indonesia.
