Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of grade V students of SDN Banjarmadu through the application of interactive learning media based on PowerPoint. The background of this research is the low learning outcomes of students in the subject of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS), which is caused by the lack of variations in learning media and the dominance of the lecture method. This study used the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method consisting of two cycles. Each cycle includes planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 24 fifth grade students. The instruments used include teacher and student activity observation sheets, as well as learning outcome tests. The results showed that the application of interactive PowerPoint media can improve teacher and student activities and student learning outcomes. This is evidenced by the increase in observation scores and test scores from cycle I to cycle II, namely student learning outcomes in cycle I 66.7% and cycle II 79.2%, so cycle I to cycle II cognitive learning outcomes in students increased by 12.5%. Thus, interactive PowerPoint media is proven effective in improving student learning outcomes in IPAS subjects.
