Abstract

This study aims to examine how Islamic education can be reimagined in the age of AI through a human-centered learning framework that integrates technological innovation with Islamic educational values. The study employed a qualitative library research approach by systematically reviewing and synthesizing scholarly literature on Artificial Intelligence in Education, Human-Centered Learning, Islamic Educational Philosophy, Human-AI Collaboration, and AI Ethics. Data were collected from peer-reviewed journal articles, academic books, policy reports, and international guidelines published between 2021 and 2026 and analyzed using thematic content analysis. The findings indicate that AI has significant potential to enhance personalized learning, expand educational accessibility, improve instructional effectiveness, and support pedagogical innovation in Islamic educational institutions. However, the integration of AI also raises important concerns related to intellectual dependency, ethical governance, privacy, algorithmic bias, and the preservation of meaningful teacher–student relationships. The study further reveals that Islamic educational concepts such as tarbiyah, ta‘lim, ta’dib, and the framework of Maqāṣid al-Sharīʿah provide a strong ethical and philosophical foundation for guiding responsible AI adoption. The novelty of this study lies in the development of a Human-Centered Learning Framework for Islamic Education that integrates Human-Centered Learning Theory, Artificial Intelligence in Education, Human-AI Collaboration, Islamic Educational Philosophy, and Maqāṣid al-Sharīʿah into a unified conceptual model. The study concludes that AI should function as an augmentative educational partner that supports, rather than replaces, the intellectual, moral, and spiritual roles of educators in fostering holistic human development

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teaching methods and their function in increasing understanding of the concept of monotheism among students. Effective teaching methods in PAI are very important to ensure that students not only master religious knowledge but are also able to internalize the values of monotheism in everyday life. This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and analysis of PAI curriculum documents. The research results show that student-centered teaching methods, such as group discussions, problem solving, and contextual learning, are more effective in increasing understanding of the concept of monotheism than conventional teacher-centered methods. Challenges in implementing this teaching method include limited time, lack of training for teachers, and limited resources. Therefore, it is recommended that there be increased teacher training and the provision of adequate resources to support the use of more interactive and participatory teaching methods. Thus, PAI teaching methods can be more effective in developing a deep understanding of monotheism among students

Abstract

Digital transformation has fundamentally changed educational management, requiring school leaders to possess adaptive leadership competencies capable of responding to technological innovation and organizational change. Nevertheless, limited research has examined Islamic educational leadership from the perspective of digital transformation. This study aims to formulate an adaptive leadership model for principals of Islamic educational institutions in the digital era. A qualitative multiple-case study was conducted across several Islamic schools recognized for implementing digital innovation. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis, followed by thematic analysis. The findings indicate that successful Islamic educational leadership combines visionary planning, technological competence, collaborative decision-making, ethical governance, and Islamic values-based management. School principals who successfully integrate these competencies create innovative organizational cultures while maintaining strong religious identity and institutional integrity. The proposed leadership model also supports sustainable school improvement through continuous professional development and digital governance. The novelty of this research is the formulation of an Adaptive Digital Islamic Leadership Model that integrates contemporary leadership theory with Islamic educational values, offering a comprehensive framework for leading Islamic schools in the era of educational digitalization
