Abstract

This study tries to examine the ideology of White Supremacy in the West and its impact on geopolitical stability in several Eastern countries. White Supremacy is an ideology that views the white group as superior to the colored group. This ideology is full of nuances of racism with violent discourse that discredits other groups. Collecting data in this study using literature study and analyzed using qualitative research methods. This study aims to examine the process of domination of the West over the East which is full of racism, and the double standard attitude of the West in responding to conflicts in a country. The results of this study show that White Supremacy causes the values of moderation – which are the biological children of democracy – to experience a crisis and do not appear in many Western political policies towards the East. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict, for example, is a concrete example where the West does not sanction Israel, unlike the West did to Russia in the war in Ukraine. This is because Israel and Ukraine are countries that are close to the West, where the right-extreme-radical view is not only widely embraced by the public but also by politicians and government elites.

Abstract

his study examines the principle of universal justice in Qur’anic verse QS. Al-Mā’idah 8 through Fazlur Rahman’s double movement hermeneutical approach and its relevance to the issue of global Human Rights (HR) bias in the case of Palestine. The verse emphasizes the obligation to uphold justice for all people, including adversaries, and rejects any form of injustice driven by hatred, prejudice, or political interests. This research employs a qualitative method using library-based analysis. The findings indicate that although various international human rights organizations have documented serious violations committed by Israel against the Palestinian people, global responses—particularly from major powers such as the United States—remain selective and politically motivated. This situation reveals a significant disparity between the ideal principles of universal human rights and their actual implementation in geopolitical practice. The study concludes that the Qur’anic principle of justice, when interpreted through Rahman’s hermeneutics, provides a strong ethical framework for critiquing such double standards and for promoting a more consistent, impartial, and humane human rights paradigm in support of justice for Palestine.

Abstract

Fazlur Rahman, a modern Islamic thinker, offers the Double Movement hermeneutic method as an approach to understanding the texts of the Qur'an. This method emerged as Rahman's critique of the classical interpretation method which is considered partial and atomistic in interpreting the Qur'an. This study will focus on two research questions, namely How is the Meaning of "Dain" in QS. Al-Baqarah: 282 from Fazlur Rahman's Double Movement hermeneutic perspective and How is the relevance of the verse "Dain" in QS. Al-Baqarah: 282 to today's modern financial transaction system. This study uses a qualitative research type with a library research approach, one of the approaches used to explore information and understand certain phenomena based on existing written sources, such as books, journals, articles, research reports, and other documents. In Fazlur Rahman's Double Movement hermeneutics, "dain" is not only seen as debt in the literal sense during the time of the Prophet, but also as a moral and ethical principle that regulates clarity in financial transactions, which can be applied in the context of modern economics.
