Abstract

UAVs with RTK technology offer high-accuracy aerial mapping, with RTK Radio and RTK NTRIP as two correction methods affecting orthomosaic precision. While previous studies compared these methods in terrestrial surveys, their impact on UAV-based orthomosaics remains underexplored. This research evaluates and compares the accuracy of UAV-derived orthomosaics using RTK Radio and RTK NTRIP to provide practical guidance for optimal mapping applications. This research combined UAV RTK photogrammetry and GIS to produce high-precision aerial maps in two areas of Padang City with different topographies. Data were collected using DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise RTK with RTK Radio and RTK NTRIP techniques, supported by GCPs, BMs, and satellite imagery, then processed into orthomosaics for analysis. Accuracy was assessed using ICPs and statistical measures like RMSE to compare the spatial precision of both correction methods under varying terrain conditions. The results show a difference in mapping accuracy between RTK Radio and RTK NTRIP aerial photographs, with RTK Radio achieving 0.683 accuracy and 0.450 RMSE, while RTK NTRIP reached 0.563 accuracy and 0.371 RMSE. RTK Radio is more suitable for areas lacking CORS access but still requires GCP verification. RTK NTRIP performs better in urban areas with strong CORS networks. Combining both methods with adequate GCPs provides an effective solution for mapping in varied or densely vegetated terrains.

Abstract

Geospatial data and information can be used for potential of villages. Apart from that, village must have data also on the potential of its main area for sectors that are dominant and support the local economy. Based on these problems, it is very important to pay attention to the provision of a spatial database in the form of the potential of the dominant productive sector. Nagari Air Manggis Selatan, Lubuk Sikaping District, Pasaman Regency has large resource potential, one of which is agriculture. However, until now there is no representative data regarding the spatial distribution and extent of agricultural land in the village. Currently, technology is developing rapidly, everyone to contribute voluntarily. This has the potential to be developed to increase technological independence, information and regional development. The aim of this research is to provide assistance to the community in carrying out data collection, building a database, and publishing agricultural potential data independently based on crowdsourching. The activity began with socialization and a focus group discussion to formulate relevant agricultural potential information. Assistance to the community is provided to map agricultural land in a participatory. Utilization of digital forms to update agricultural potential data is also carried out. The collected data is managed in a cloud database and displayed in Web-GIS

Abstract

Spatial distribution and visualization of planting areas in PTPN IV Regional 4 Kayu Aro Unit were conducted using high-resolution aerial imagery and Geographic Information System (GIS). This study aims to identify the distribution of planting areas and develop a WebGIS as an interactive spatial visualization tool that can support the monitoring and management of plantation land. The methods used include visual interpretation of high-resolution aerial photos, land use digitization, GIS spatial analysis, and WebGIS implementation based on QGIS2Web. Land use classification distinguished planting and non-planting areas, supported by slope analysis to evaluate topographic influence on land utilization. Plantation areas are predominantly occupied by active planting zones, with the highest percentage recorded in Afdeling E (95.881%), followed by Afdeling G (92.735%), Afdeling F (92.689%), and Afdeling D (92.601%). Afdeling A shows the lowest planting proportion at 58.84%, indicating a relatively higher concentration of non-planting areas. Spatial patterns indicate that planting areas are generally distributed on flat to undulating slopes, representing more suitable conditions for cultivation and plantation management. Spatial data and attribute information were integrated into a WebGIS platform to support interactive visualization, spatial monitoring, and information accessibility. The research results show that Afdeling E has the highest planted area percentage at 95.88%, while Afdeling A has the lowest at 58.84%. Black Box testing shows that all WebGIS features work with a 100% success rate.

Abstract

Tea is a leading plantation commodity in Indonesia, but production estimation through manual field surveys has limitations in terms of cost, time, and accuracy, and is less able to describe spatial variations between blocks representatively. This study aims to estimate tea production in Afdeling B PTPN IV Danau Kembar using PlanetScope imagery with the Transformed Vegetation Index (TVI) approach, and to test the accuracy of the estimation compared to actual production data. The methods used include image pre-processing (radiometric calibration), TVI calculation, field data collection through sample plots, simple linear regression analysis, and production estimation at the block level using zonal aggregation and Jenks Natural Breaks classification. The results show that the TVI value ranges from 0.79–1.13 with a productive land area reaching 240 ha (84.21%) of the total 285 ha. The regression analysis yielded a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.7933 with the equation y = 1388.8x – 1458.4, while the model validation results showed an R² of 0.7005. The total estimated tea shoot production in Afdeling B reached 119.5 tons, with the highest production in block 24 (8.80 tons) and the lowest in block 46 (0.48 tons). Although the model displayed good accuracy results at the sample scale, the resulting estimate was less precise compared to company data due to differences, namely the temporality of the data. However, the approach using TVI based on PlanetScope imagery has proven to have advantages in presenting spatial information on the distribution of tea plant productivity per block that cannot be obtained from conventional methods, thus supporting more efficient and sustainable spatial data-based tea plantation management. The contribution of this research is to provide a TVI- and PlanetScope-based tea production estimation model applied to the highland tea plantations of West Sumatra, while also generating a spatial productivity distribution map per block as a basis for more practical plantation management decision-making.

Abstract

Ketahanan pangan adalah salah satu isu yang menjadi perhatian pemerintah Indonesia. Visi swasembada pangan dicanangkan pemerintah termaktub dalam Asta Cita yang sejalan dengan Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), yaitu zero hunger. Nagari (desa) sebagai unit pemerintahan terkecil harus memiliki kesadaran situasional mengenai potensi wilayah yang didukung dengan data yang komprehensif, khususnya pada sektor yang mendukung ketahanan pangan, yaitu pertanian. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah melakukan pendampingan kepada masyarakat dalam menginisasi Smart Agriculture Village melalui Volunteered Geographic Activity (VGA) untuk membangun data ketahanan pangan dan pertanian di Nagari Air Manggis Selatan, Kecamatan Lubuk Sikaping, Kabupaten Pasaman, Sumatera Barat. Secara khusus kegiatan ini diarahkan untuk pengumpulan, pengelolaan, dan publikasi data spasial potensi pertanian secara partisipatif. Secara metodologis, kegiatan dilakukan melalui sosialisasi, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), pemetaan partisipatif, pengambilan data lapangan terkait potensi pertanian dan evaluasi hasil. Kegiatan ini menghasilkan keluaran berupa peta dan basis data sumber daya pertanian yang bersifat kolaboratif. Luas lahan sawah yang berhasil dipetakan melalui rangkaian kegiatan VGA di Nagari Air Manggis Selatan adalah 20,9 hektar berikut dengan informasi terkait pengelolaan dan produktivitasnya.

Abstract

Mentawai is an island in West Sumatera inhabited by indigenous community that still maintain their culture. However, this origin culture still cannot strongly attract international tourists. Most of these tourists come to Mentawai for surfing. In fact, Mentawai can potentially become a tourism destination that offers authentic culture, primarily through the existence of cultural center created by local people. One of the cultural centers is Sanggar Pasigeugeu Puro 2. This cultural community has made some efforts to promote Mentawai culture through social media. They have uploaded various content about Mentawai culture in Instagram. However, they have lack of skills in to create cultural content that have a good engagement for Instagram users. They also face obstacles in English skills so that they are not able to create English caption for their cultural content. This fact shows that the partner faces problems in creating and producing English-based cultural content for social media to reach international Instagram users. Therefore, this community program is purposed to provide trainings on producing cultural contents and to improve English skills for members of Sanggar Pasigeugeu Puro 2. In this community service, they can enrich their skills in various fields. As a result, they have chances not only to promote Mentawai cultures but also to document them in the forms of photos and videos. The result of this community service shows that the members’ skills in English, photography, and videography has improved that they can produce a more qualified cultural content.
