Abstract

Membaca permulaan merupakan dasar yang sangat penting dalam menunjang keberhasilan belajar peserta didik di sekolah dasar. Ketidakmampuan menguasai keterampilan ini dapat menghambat pemahaman materi pelajaran lain serta menurunkan kepercayaan diri peserta didik. Namun, kenyataanya masih ditemukan peserta didik yang mengalami kesulitan membaca permulaan hingga kelas empat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mendeskripsikan bentuk kesulitan membaca permulaan, faktor penyebab, serta dampaknya terhadap proses belajar peserta didik kelas III di SD Inpres 63 Kabupaten Sorong. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas enam peserta didik kelas III yang mengalami kesulitan membaca permulaan. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, angket, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Keabsahan data dijamin melalui teknik triangulasi, yang meliputi triangulasi sumber, teknik, dan waktu, guna memastikan kredibilitas dan keakuratan data yang diperoleh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan membaca permulaan peserta didik belum merata. Bentuk kesulitan yang ditemukan meliputi ketidakmampuan mengenali huruf secara konsisten, kesalahan membedakan huruf yang mirip, kesulitan mengeja suku kata, serta membaca kata dan kalimat secara terbata-bata. Faktor penyebab meliputi faktor internal, seperti rendahnya penguasaan huruf dan kepercayaan diri, serta faktor ekstrnal berupa ketidakteraturan kehadiran dan kurang pendampingan orang tua. Dampak kesulitan membaca terlihat pada rendahnya partisipasi dan kepercayaan diri peserta didik. penelitian ini menegaskan perlunya penanganan kolaboratif dan berkelanjutan melalui keterlibatan guru, sekolah, dan orang tua guna mendukung perkembangan kemampuan membaca peserta didik.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to assess the impact of applying the Role Playing method on enhancing students' interest in learning the Indonesian Language subject for fourth-grade students at SD Istianah Terpadu, Sorong City. The role playing method, which involves students acting out various roles, can create a more engaging and meaningful learning experience. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research design. The sample consisted of 12 students from SD Istianah Terpadu, Sorong City. Data weqare gathered through a questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS to test the proposed hypothesis. The study results indicated significant differences in the average, maximum, and minimum scores before and after the treatment. The significance value was 0.000 < 0.05, which leads to the rejection of H0 and the acceptance of H1. This suggests that there is a difference in the average learning interest before and after the treatment, indicating that the implementation of the role playing method effectively enhances students' learning interest in Indonesian Language subject for fourth-grade students at SD Istianah Terpadu Sorong City.

Abstract

Local wisdom plays a strategic role in maintaining social cohesion and resolving conflicts in multicultural societies. Ain Ni Ain is a cultural value upheld by the Kei ethnic community of Southeast Maluku, Indonesia. This philosophy, which literally means “one belongs to another,” emphasizes brotherhood, solidarity, and collective responsibility as the foundation of social relations. However, these values have experienced cultural shifts in the urban context of Sorong City, Southwest Papua. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Ain Ni Ain values within a peace counseling approach as a strategy for conflict resolution among the Kei community in Sorong City. The study employed a qualitative case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with customary leaders, religious leaders, counselors, and members of the Kei community involved in or affected by conflicts, supported by participatory observation. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through triangulation of sources and techniques. The findings indicate that Ain Ni Ain remains relevant in peace counseling practices through community deliberation, customary mediation, reinforcement of collective moral commitments, and spiritual legitimization by traditional and religious leaders, with counselors acting as facilitators of reflective dialogue in reconciliation processes. These findings suggest that integrating local cultural values into counseling practices can strengthen community-based conflict resolution and contribute to the development of culturally grounded peace counseling in multicultural societies.
