Abstract

Pain in hypertensive patients can worsen the patient's blood pressure. Sujok therapy is one of the suitable therapies used to reduce the pain scale. This activity aims to describe how the effect and application of Sujok therapy on pain scale and blood pressure in hypertensive patients. This activity included physical assessment, psychosomatic symptoms, disease history, pain scale and the provision of Sujok therapy to 19 hypertension elderly. This activity was carried out for two days on November 21, 2023 at Prolanis Puskesmas Jetis II Bantul, Yogyakarta and on November 26, 2023 at the Baiturrahman Mosque Popongan, Yogyakarta. Sujok therapy is carried out using methods such as massage with probes, fenugreek seeds attachment, and chakra magnet attachment to the hand which is the basic correspondence system and insect correspondence system. The test used to see pain comparison was paired sample t-test and to compare blood pressure was Wilcoxon test. The results of the assessment found various physical complaints, namely headaches, neck and shoulder pain, lower and upper extremity pain, and back and waist pain. After therapy, there was a significant decrease in pain scale (p=0.000) and systolic blood pressure (p=0.004) in hypertensive patients. This activity shows that Sujok therapy with the method of massaging the probe tool, fenugreek seeds, and magnetic attachment to the basic correspondence system and insect correspondence system can be an alternative therapy to reduce pain and blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Keywords: Hypertension, pain, sujok therapy.

Abstract

Background: One source of disease transmission that is often overlooked is kitchen utensils, especially dishwashing sponges. Sponges used continuously in damp, warm conditions and that frequently contact food scraps can become a breeding ground for various pathogenic microorganisms, including Escherichia coli (E. coli) bacteria. E. coli is an indicator of fecal contamination that can cause various health problems, such as diarrhea, urinary tract infections, and even food poisoning. Public ignorance about how to properly care for sponges, such as regular washing, drying, or periodic replacement, further increases the risk of spreading bacteria through eating utensils. Purpose: The aim of this program is to evaluate the increase in the knowledge capacity of housewives in understanding dishwashing techniques using sponges to prevent the transmission of the pathogenic bacteria Escherichia coli. Method: This Community Service Program involved health education outreach for housewives, with 22 housewives, one person from the village government, and one health education worker participating. The program included planning, implementation, evaluation, and reporting. Results: The community service activities received positive appreciation and participation from all housewives and village government officials in Gagakan, Kahuman, Polanharjo, Klaten. Based on the results of the Wilcoxon Analysis Test, there was a significant increase in knowledge after being given socialization on dishwashing techniques using sponges (p = 0.012). Conclusion: The socialization of the sponge dishwashing technique improved housewives' knowledge of the sponge dishwashing technique, thereby preventing the spread of pathogenic Escherichia coli bacteria. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize the role of housewives in community empowerment activities through the sponge dishwashing technique socialization program for effective dissemination.

Abstract

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: The integration of generative artificial intelligence (AI), specifically ChatGPT, is driving a major transformation in nursing education to support flexible and personalized learning. However, this widespread adoption has sparked academic debate regarding institutional integrity, the risk of misinformation, and student autonomy. Purpose: This systematic review aims to identify, evaluate, and synthesize global scientific evidence regarding the opportunities, educational challenges, and student learning outcomes associated with the use of ChatGPT and generative AI in nursing education. Methods: A systematic literature review was conducted strictly following PRISMA guidelines. A comprehensive electronic search was conducted in PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar for English-language scholarly articles (2020–2026). Methodological quality and risk of bias were independently assessed using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Critical Appraisal Tools. Results: Ten studies met the eligibility criteria. This review identified significant learning opportunities, including increased learning efficiency, rapid access to clinical data, optimized student engagement, and flexible support for simulation-based reflection and self-directed learning. Regarding learning outcomes, AI integration positively contributes to clinical reasoning and interactive problem-solving. However, prominent educational challenges include threats to academic integrity, plagiarism, data privacy breaches, student dependency, and the risk of misinformation. Conclusion: ChatGPT and generative AI serve as valuable complementary pedagogical tools to support clinical decision-making when properly regulated. Nursing institutions should proactively establish clear operational policies and a structured AI literacy framework to maximize the technology's opportunities while maintaining academic integrity.
