Abstract

Fish feed is the largest component in freshwater fish cultivation. Feed costs reach 60%-70% of total production costs. The availability of sufficient fish food, both in quality and quantity, is one of the key factors in the success of fish farming. Good quality fish feed not only has high protein content, but also has good physical properties, one of which is buoyancy. Mitra is the Mina Mandiri group in Panembangan Village, Cilongok District, Banyumas Regency which has problems in producing quality fish feed. This activity aims to increase the knowledge and skills of partners in making good quality fish food, which has a protein content that suits the fish's needs and has good buoyancy. The method by which activities are carried out includes coordinating the preparation of service activities with partners, socializing activity programs, implementing activities, and evaluating activity results. Partners are quite enthusiastic about this activity. Partners actively discuss and share experiences related to fish feed production and other fish farming issues. The results of the activity show an increase in partners' knowledge and skills in producing quality fish feed by 50%, based on pre & post tests. Service activities will continue to be carried out as a form of concern and transfer of science and technology to the community, as well as the implementation of the tri dharma of higher education.

Abstract

The fish feed production and maggot business managed by the Mina Mandiri fish farming group have quite promising economic prospects. However, for both businesses to develop sustainably, the implementation of planned business management is required. This activity aims to strengthen the management capacity of partner businesses through the development of marketing strategies, the implementation of orderly bookkeeping, and effective and efficient financial management. Partners in this community service activity are the Mina Mandiri Fish Farming and maggot Group in Panembangan Village, Banyumas Regency. The implementation of the activity uses a participatory approach. The series of activities includes socialization, program implementation, mentoring, and evaluation. The success of the program was measured using the one-group pre-test and post-test method. The evaluation results showed that 82.5% of partner members have understood and are able to implement marketing strategies well. In addition, 80% of partner members are able to understand and implement business bookkeeping, while 85% of partner members have understood and implemented financial management more orderly. One significant change resulting from this activity was the establishment of separate business bookkeeping from personal financial records. Although the program has yielded positive results, evaluations of the program indicate the need for further mentoring. The program's sustainability is expected to help partners overcome various challenges in fish feed and maggot production, while strengthening their business management capabilities for sustainable growth.
