Abstract

Educators and educational staff are important components in the implementation of early childhood education. The quality of educator management greatly influences the success of the learning process and children's optimal development. This study aims to analyze the implementation of educator and educational staff management at TK Negeri 3 Taliwang and to identify its implications, supporting factors, and inhibiting factors. The research method used is a literature study by reviewing various scientific sources such as journals, books, and documents related to the research topic. The results show that the management of educators and educational staff includes planning, recruitment, placement, competency development, and performance evaluation. Good management implementation can improve the quality of educational institutions, enhance teacher professionalism, and support more effective learning processes. However, several challenges still exist, such as the limited number of professionally qualified teachers and the lack of continuous training for educators. Therefore, support from various parties is needed to improve the quality of educator and educational staff management in early childhood education institutions.

Abstract

This mini-research aims to present a descriptive statistical analysis of data collected from students, focusing on the characteristics of respondents and the variables studied, as a fulfillment of the Statistics course assignment. This study uses a quantitative approach with a sample of 32 respondents, consisting of 28 females and 4 males, who were selected purposively. Data collection was carried out using a validated Google Form-based questionnaire. The collected data were then analyzed using descriptive statistics, including calculating frequencies, percentages, means, and standard deviations. The results of the frequency analysis show that the majority of respondents were females (87.5%) and came from the 2023 batch (53.1%). The majority of respondents came from the PGSD Department (40.6%), followed by BK (25.0%), PENMAS (18.8%), and PGPAUD (15.6%). The average age of respondents who were active in organizations (YES) was 19.6 years, while those who were not active (NO) was 19.5 years. The age range of the respondents was 19 years, with 10 respondents actively participating in organizations and 1 respondent inactive. Based on GPA, the most common GPA among respondents was 3.6 and 3.7. Overall, this report provides a comprehensive overview of the respondents' demographics and their distribution across the variables studied using descriptive statistical techniques. It is hoped that this report will provide benefits and contribute positively to the development of science at Medan State University.

Abstract

Cognitive development in early childhood, especially 5 years of age, is an important foundation in forming logical and symbolic thinking skills. Although some children are able to recognize and name various types of plants in their environment, there is still variation in understanding the physical characteristics of plants and their habitats. This study aims to describe the cognitive abilities of 5-year-old children in identifying plant types, recognizing where they grow, and understanding the physical characteristics of plants through a checklist-based assessment approach. The study used a descriptive quantitative method with seven children from five kindergartens in Medan City as subjects. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews, and documentation of children's activities during the learning process. The results of the study showed that most children, namely 85.71%, were in the "Very Well Developed" category. Children were able to group plants based on their type and where they grow, and recognize plant parts such as roots, stems, leaves, and flowers. These findings indicate that the use of checklist-based observation assessment instruments is effective in mapping children's cognitive development more objectively and contextually. This study contributes to the development of early childhood education learning strategies that are more appropriate to children's developmental stages and based on real experiences.
