Abstract

This research explores the reconstruction of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) business diplomacy from an Islamic political economy perspective, serving as a response to the challenges of globalization, economic inequality, and ethical fragmentation in modern economic diplomacy practices. The study is motivated by the urgency of integrating prophetic values—such as trustworthiness (amanah), justice, transparency, and anti-monopoly—into a contemporary economic architecture that is often mired in materialistic orientations. Utilizing a library research method, this study analyzes approximately 20 primary and secondary sources, including sirah (biographies), Hadiths, Islamic political-economic literature, and international institutional reports. A thematic-historical-comparative approach was employed to examine the Prophet's diplomatic practices in Medina, compare them with modern economic diplomacy, and identify their relevance to the global halal industry and current public policy. The results indicate that the Prophet’s diplomacy emphasized market integrity, the protection of vulnerable groups, and social stability as the foundations of a sustainable economy. These prophetic values are proven compatible with modern governance principles; however, their implementation in Muslim-majority countries is still hindered by liberal market orientations, the commercialization of the halal industry, and policies that are not yet ethics-based. This study concludes that the prophetic business diplomacy model can serve as a strategic framework for developing Sharia economic policy, halal standardization, MSME empowerment, and international diplomacy. An integrative approach and policy innovation are required to ensure that prophetic values transition from moral discourse into operational foundations for modern economic governance.

Abstract

This research explores the relationship between Islamic work ethics and gender equality within the professional sphere of Muslim society, with a specific focus on the Indonesian context. The study is motivated by the persistent challenges faced by Muslim professional women, including patriarchal norms, gender stereotypes, domestic expectations, and organizational policies that lack gender sensitivity. Islam emphasizes the principles of justice ('adl), trustworthiness (amanah), equality (musawah), and responsibility, which possess the potential to serve as the moral and professional foundation for an inclusive and gender-equal workplace. Using a qualitative approach, this study employs literature review and contemporary discourse analysis. Primary data are derived from Islamic foundational texts (the Qur’an, Hadith, and maqāṣid al-sharīʿah), while secondary data consist of empirical and contemporary literature on Muslim women, Islamic work ethics, and their implementation in formal and informal organizations. A thematic analysis was conducted to examine Islamic work values, cultural and structural barriers, and gender equality practices in the workforce. The results indicate that the values of amanah, honesty, responsibility, justice, and musawah significantly support organizational productivity, integrity, and inclusivity. However, practical implementation remains hindered by entrenched patriarchal culture, gender stereotypes, and rigid organizational structures. The study concludes that the application of gender-responsive Islamic work ethics requires a holistic strategy that integrates organizational policy, ethical and gender education, and a transformation of work culture. This research provides both theoretical and practical contributions by enriching academic literature and offering guidance for organizations to achieve gender equality based on Islamic principles

Abstract

This research examines the protection of public rights from the perspective of Islamic law, aiming to understand the relevance of Sharia principles within modern contexts and positive legal practices in Indonesia. The study is motivated by the existing gap between Sharia theory and the implementation of public rights, alongside the demands of globalization and international human rights standards that necessitate the harmonization of Islamic norms with national law. Utilizing a qualitative approach through library research and descriptive analysis, data were gathered from scientific journals, reference books, legal documents, and contemporary articles discussing Islamic law, maqāṣid al-sharīʿah, and public rights. An inductive analysis was performed to identify patterns, Sharia principles, and the relationship between individual rights and collective interests. The results indicate that public rights in Islamic law are deeply rooted in maqāṣid al-sharīʿah, which emphasizes the preservation of religion, life, intellect, progeny, and property. The principles of justice, public interest (maslahah), and social responsibility serve as the primary foundations for formulating public policy and protecting communal rights. Furthermore, this study identifies discrepancies between Islamic law and Indonesia's positive legal practices, particularly regarding education, healthcare, minority rights, and religious freedom, highlighting the need for integration with international human rights standards. In conclusion, the protection of public rights is a collective responsibility shared between the state and society. Integrating Sharia principles into public policy can enhance social justice, legal literacy, and community welfare. This research offers both academic and practical contributions to the development of modern Islamic legal theory, policy, and practice.

Abstract

This research examines the strategic role of women within Indonesia’s halal economy, focusing on their contributions, structural challenges, and developmental opportunities in the digital era. Women have proven to be key actors in strengthening halal MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises), particularly in the food, Muslim fashion, and cosmetics sectors, contributing significantly to family economic resilience and national economic growth. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach based on secondary data analysis, this study explores the dynamics of women’s contributions within the halal value chain as well as the obstacles they face. These include limited access to Sharia financing, uneven digital literacy, the complexity of halal certification, and socio-cultural barriers that restrict women’s participation in productive economic activities. The thematic analysis indicates that digitalization opens vast opportunities for women to expand their market reach through e-commerce and Sharia-based marketplaces, while the global trend of the halal lifestyle offers expansion opportunities at the international level. This research also highlights the importance of government policy support through the simplification of halal certification, improved access to Sharia financing, and community-based empowerment programs. Theoretically, these findings affirm that women act not only as economic players but also as moral agents who maintain the integrity of Sharia values in production and marketing. The implications of this research emphasize the urgency of multi-stakeholder synergy to create a halal ecosystem that is inclusive, responsive, and sustainable. Consequently, women's empowerment is a strategic element in strengthening the competitiveness of the national halal industry and achieving sustainable economic development based on Sharia values.

Abstract

Conflict is an inseparable part of organizational dynamics, including within Islamic organizations characterized by the diverse traits of their members. This study aims to analyze conflict management practices in Islamic organizations by highlighting the implementation of Sharia principles as the primary foundation for dispute resolution. This research employs a literature review method, referencing accredited scientific sources from the last 5–10 years to ensure data validity and currency. The findings indicate that conflict should not necessarily be viewed as a threat but rather as an opportunity for growth, innovation, and the strengthening of ukhuwah Islamiyah (Islamic brotherhood). Principles such as shura (consultation), ishlah (mediation/reconciliation), justice, and patience serve as the bedrock for building an organizational culture that is harmonious, fair, and sustainable. Unlike conventional conflict management, which focuses on efficiency and rapid resolution, the Islamic approach emphasizes harmony, substantive justice, and long-term blessings (barakah). Thus, Sharia-based conflict management fosters a productive, inclusive, and resilient work environment while reinforcing the unity and solidarity of the ummah. This research offers practical benefits for foundation managers, Islamic organization leaders, and the academic community in developing conflict management models aligned with divine values.

Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to examine in depth the relationship between campus culture and the moral transformation of Muslim students, using Pelita Bangsa University Bekasi as a case study. The research is motivated by the increasing phenomenon of moral degradation among students in the digital era, such as unethical behavior on social media, academic dishonesty, and the weakening internalization of religious values due to globalization and secularization. This condition underscores the urgent role of higher education institutions not only as centers for knowledge transfer but also as strategic spaces for character and moral formation. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design, combining library research and a limited case study. Informants were selected purposively, involving Muslim students across various semesters and those active in Islamic student organizations to comprehensively understand the dynamics of moral transformation. The findings indicate that campus culture plays a significant role in internalizing Islamic values such as honesty, responsibility, discipline, and tolerance. However, challenges arise from student subculture resistance, the influence of a permissive digital culture, and the weak implementation of campus ethical policies. While Islamic Religious Education (PAI) courses can foster more reflective moral changes, they have not yet fully addressed the structural moral crisis. This research emphasizes the importance of integrating moral values into the curriculum, implementing a "hidden curriculum," and strengthening digital literacy and moral mentoring. In conclusion, student moral transformation requires a collaborative and sustainable approach to produce graduates with integrity and social responsibility.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the dynamics of Sharia clothing implementation within the context of the relationship between law and culture in Indonesia. The study employs a qualitative approach through a literature review of contemporary scientific sources from the 2020–2025 period. The focus of the study includes the interaction between Sharia normative provisions and social practices within the Indonesian Muslim fashion industry. The findings indicate that differing interpretations regarding the boundaries of awrah and Sharia standards have led to diverse clothing practices in society. Furthermore, a process of cultural negotiation occurs between universal Islamic values and local wisdom, giving birth to the distinct characteristics of Indonesian Muslim fashion. The Muslim fashion industry is also undergoing a transformation from a Sharia-compliance orientation toward a market-oriented approach, creating a dilemma between maintaining religious values and meeting economic demands. Additionally, digitalization and social media play a primary role in accelerating the transformation and reinterpretation of Sharia clothing, particularly among the younger generation. This research recommends the need for adaptive regulations, the development of credible Sharia certification standards, and an increase in public literacy to create a sustainable and contextual Muslim fashion ecosystem in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research aims to identify and analyze product innovation in Sharia Non-Bank Financial Institutions (SNBFIs) in Indonesia, including the mechanisms of driving factors, barriers, and their implications for the industry's competitiveness and sustainability. This study employs a qualitative approach with a library research design, analyzing various scientific literatures, industry reports, and relevant policy documents. The findings indicate that the driving mechanisms for innovation include increasingly diverse customer needs, industrial competitive pressures, and rapid advancements in digital technology. A prominent form of innovation identified is the development of Sharia micro-insurance (micro-takaful), which is affordable for low-income communities, as well as the utilization of Sharia crowdfunding platforms for MSME financing based on Sharia contracts. Conversely, product innovation faces several barriers, particularly regarding regulatory and resource aspects. The Sharia compliance process, which requires fatwa validation, is often time-consuming, compounded by a shortage of human resources proficient in both fiqh muamalah and technology, and limited funding for research and development. Furthermore, regulatory rigidity in the early stages of innovation poses a significant challenge for new product development. This study affirms that product innovation is a strategic necessity for SNBFIs to enhance competitiveness and expand Sharia financial inclusion. Therefore, synergy among institutions, regulators, and the digital ecosystem is required to create adaptive, inclusive, and Sharia-compliant innovations.
