<![CDATA[Waste management is a major challenge for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, marked by daily waste generation reaching approximately 7,500-8,000 tons and a national waste-handling rate that has never exceeded 49 percent. To address this issue, the Governor of DKI Jakarta issued Governor Instruction Number 5 of 2026 concerning the Movement for Waste Sorting and Processing at the Source, which took effect on 10 May 2026 and obliges residents to sort waste into four categories: organic, inorganic, hazardous and toxic materials (B3), and residue. This community service activity was carried out in collaboration with five higher education institutions in Sukabumi Selatan Sub-district, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, on 27 July 2026, with the theme of community empowerment in sustainable waste management through source-based sorting education and strengthening waste bank governance. Field observation found that only one active neighbourhood-level (RW) waste bank existed in Sukabumi Selatan. Through the collaborative competence of Management, Media Design, International Marketing, and Media Production study programs, this activity produced a joint commitment among the Sub-district Government, PKK cadres, and Karang Taruna to establish a waste bank in each RW, mentored by the respective RW's Karang Taruna unit. The activity is expected to accelerate the achievement of the RPJMN's target of 100 percent managed waste by 2029 while strengthening the local circular economy.]]>
