Abstract

Through mentoring the implementation of the Competitive Think–Pair–Share (TPS) learning model in class VIII-2 at SMP Negeri 6 Banda Aceh, this community service activity aims to enhance students’ learning outcomes and engagement. The process employed a Participatory Action Research approach conducted in two cycles, each comprising the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. A total of 29 students comprised the participants. The data were analyzed descriptively to identify progressive improvements across cycles, and were collected using observation sheets of teacher and student activities, learning achievement assessments, and student response questionnaires. The findings revealed that, in Cycle I, classical learning mastery reached 44.83%, indicating suboptimal student engagement and adaptation to the instructional model. Following reflective improvements, Cycle II demonstrated a substantial increase in classical mastery to 86.2%, exceeding the predetermined criterion. Furthermore, notable improvements were observed in teachers’ instructional management and students’ active participation in collaborative discussions. Students’ responses toward the learning model were predominantly positive, indicating increased motivation and engagement. In conclusion, mentoring the implementation of the Competitive TPS model effectively enhances instructional quality, student engagement, and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perubahan penggunaan lahan di Gampong Lamkeuneung, Kecamatan Darussalam, Kabupaten Aceh Besar menggunakan Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG), serta mengetahui pola dan faktor pendorong perubahan penggunaan lahan yang terjadi dari tahun 2004 hingga 2025. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan analisis spasial berbasis SIG. Pengolahan data dilakukan melalui tahapan interpretasi citra satelit, digitasi on-screen, klasifikasi penggunaan lahan, dan overlay peta menggunakan perangkat lunak Global Mapper 21.0. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa analisis citra satelit multi-temporal yang diperkuat dengan observasi lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, pada masing-masing jenis penggunaan lahan terjadi perubahan luas yang bervariasi, yaitu pemukiman mengalami pertambahan luas terbesar dari 40.980 m² menjadi 88.700 m² (116%), sementara sawah mengalami penyusutan terbesar sebesar 32%, diikuti kebun sebesar 19%, dan lahan kosong sebesar 14%. Perubahan penggunaan lahan di Gampong Lamkeuneung dinilai belum terkendali secara optimal, diantaranya konversi lahan sawah, kebun, dan lahan kosong menjadi pemukiman yang didorong oleh pertumbuhan penduduk, keberadaan fasilitas pendidikan, dan faktor ekonomi. ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze land use changes in Gampong Lamkeuneung, Darussalam District, Aceh Besar Regency using Geographic Information System (GIS), as well as to determine the patterns and driving factors of land use change that occurred from 2004 to 2025. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with GIS-based spatial analysis. Data processing is carried out through the stages of satellite image interpretation, on-screen digitization, land use classification, and  map overlay using Global Mapper 21.0 software. The data collection technique is in the form of multi-temporal satellite image analysis  which is strengthened by field observation. The results showed that, in each type of land use, there was a variation in area, namely settlements experienced the largest increase in area from 40,980 m² to 88,700 m² (116%), while rice fields experienced the largest shrinkage by 32%, followed by gardens by 19%, and vacant land by 14%. Changes in land use in Gampong Lamkeuneung are considered to have not been optimally controlled, including the conversion of rice fields, gardens, and vacant land into settlements driven by population growth, the existence of educational facilities, and economic factors.
