Abstract

Foreign language learning continues to face persistent challenges, particularly in vocabulary acquisition, which is often constrained by decontextualized instruction and limited learner engagement. Recent advances in educational technology suggest that augmented reality (AR) can offer immersive and interactive learning environments capable of addressing these limitations. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of augmented reality–based instruction in enhancing vocabulary acquisition among foreign language learners through immersive learning experiences. The research employed a quasi-experimental design involving an experimental group receiving AR-supported vocabulary instruction and a control group taught using conventional methods. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests, classroom observations, and learner perception questionnaires, and were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. The findings indicate that learners exposed to augmented reality demonstrated significantly higher vocabulary gains, improved retention, and greater learning motivation compared to those in the control group. Qualitative data further revealed that immersive visual and contextual cues facilitated deeper semantic understanding and learner engagement. The study concludes that augmented reality is a pedagogically effective tool for foreign language vocabulary instruction, offering meaningful, context-rich learning experiences. These results suggest that integrating AR into foreign language curricula can substantially enhance vocabulary learning outcomes and learner motivation, while also supporting innovative, technology-enhanced pedagogical practices.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has transformed healthcare delivery, with telemedicine emerging as a vital tool for improving accessibility, efficiency, and patient-centered care. The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the adoption of telemedicine, highlighting its role in bridging geographical barriers and optimizing medical consultations through virtual platforms. Despite its benefits, challenges such as regulatory issues, technological disparities, and concerns about patient data security remain significant obstacles to its widespread implementation. This study aims to examine the impact of telemedicine on modern healthcare services, evaluate its effectiveness in improving patient outcomes, and identify barriers to adoption. A systematic review approach was used, analyzing peer-reviewed studies, clinical reports, and policy papers published between 2018 and 2024. The findings indicate that telemedicine enhances healthcare accessibility, reduces consultation wait times, and lowers healthcare costs, particularly in remote and underserved areas. However, limitations such as uneven internet infrastructure, resistance from healthcare providers, and variations in legal frameworks hinder its optimal utilization. This study concludes that telemedicine represents the future of digital healthcare, requiring further technological advancements, regulatory standardization, and healthcare professional training to maximize its potential. Future research should explore AI-integrated telemedicine models and their role in improving diagnosis and treatment personalization.

Abstract

Background. The implementation of risk management in educational institutions has become increasingly crucial due to the growing complexities and uncertainties in the education sector. However, many institutions face challenges in effectively adopting risk management practices, leading to potential vulnerabilities that affect their operational and educational outcomes. Purpose. This study aims to evaluate the current state of risk management implementation in educational institutions, focusing on the strategies, processes, and challenges involved. Method. The research adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative interviews with key stakeholders (administrators, staff, and educators) and quantitative surveys to assess the extent of risk management practices across several educational institutions. Results. The findings reveal that while risk management practices are recognized as essential, their implementation is often inconsistent and lacks a systematic approach. Key challenges identified include insufficient training, lack of resources, and resistance to change. The study concludes that to enhance the effectiveness of risk management in educational institutions, it is crucial to establish clear policies, provide continuous professional development, and foster a culture of proactive risk identification and mitigation. Conclusion. The research provides valuable insights for educational administrators and policymakers to improve risk management frameworks and ensure the sustainability and resilience of educational institutions.

Abstract

Background. Industrial activities are a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions in Indonesia, posing significant challenges for environmental sustainability and climate policy. Carbon taxation has emerged globally as a legal and economic instrument to incentivize industrial decarbonization, but its effectiveness within the Indonesian regulatory and economic context remains underexplored. Purpose. Understanding the strengths, limitations, and implementation challenges of carbon tax as a legal norm is critical for designing policies that achieve emissions reduction without undermining industrial competitiveness.   Method. Findings indicate that while carbon taxation has potential to drive emission reductions, challenges such as policy ambiguity, compliance enforcement, and economic impacts on industries limit its current effectiveness. Results. The study concludes that successful implementation requires a coherent legal framework, transparent regulatory mechanisms, and integration with complementary environmental policies. Strengthening institutional capacity and ensuring stakeholder engagement are essential for maximizing the efficacy of carbon tax as a tool for industrial decarbonization.
